Beyond Veggie is a refreshing meatless dining concept from Secret Recipe Cakes & Café Group. Their extensive menu range is inspired by all fresh and natural products with no colouring, preservatives or MSG.
Dining here is all about healthy and delicious choices!
Similarly to Secret Recipe, all outlets are air conditioned cafes located in highly populated areas or shopping malls.
Décor is clean, minimalist and brightly lit. The layout of the dining area is spacious and comfortable for families, couples, single diners as well as large gatherings of friends.
Beyond Veggie aims to bring a modern vegetarian dining experience to Malaysians. The menu carries influences from both Asian and Western and the selections are easy favourites such as fried rice, pastas, sandwiches and pizzas.
For large groups and families, the Village Kitchen menu would be ideal. Under this section of the menu, stir fry greens, mushrooms and tofu in various preparations and bean curd rolls are ordered to pair with plain rice or as supplements to the pastas, fried rice or soup and fried noodles.
It is almost like your local “tai chou” where you can order dishes to be eaten with rice and shared in a large group.
Since there was only 4 of us that day, we ordered the individual portions instead.
We sampled the Red Yeast Fried Rice (RM15.90), Creamy Pesto with Tofu (RM17.90) and shared a Pesto and Mushroom Pizza (RM18.90).
Portions are big and ingredients are very fresh. Clever use of colours from the ingredients made the food looks really appetizing.
Most importantly, the food taste as good as it looks! 😀
In keeping with the health theme, the beverage menu offers fresh juices beside the usual coffee, tea and other cold beverages. The Quickfix; Kedondong, Limau Kasturi and Plum blend (RM8.90) was a refreshing drink which made good use of our local produce.
Iced water is chargeable at RM0.50 per glass.
For dessert, indulge in one of their eggless cakes. Our Pistachio Cream Cake (RM7.50) is a slice of heavenly Chantilly cream with pistachio nut filling sandwiched between 3 layers of vanilla sponge covered with pistachio cream .

Hi Rebecca, went for lunch at the outlet in Ipoh last week. We loved the Crispy Fried Mushrooms as an appetiser, my Pasta dish was good too, but my son’s Laksa was a bit of let-down, a bit bland and watery. Think will try out their rice dishes next time, enjoyed it on the whole though. You don’t leave with that “stuffed over-ate my lunch” feeling!
Wow! The vegetarian dishes actually look appetizing!
a big slice of pistachio cake for me please 😀
Thks for the review. I had always wondered if it’s worth a visit. Prices are steep but I guess that comes with the environment.
A good chance from the usual Indian vegetarian or Chinese vegetarian style meals for me
Vegetarian?? Gimme my meat! 😉
Thanks for meeting up before u fly off! What are you talking about, I still think you’re a great author. But yes, improve as much as you can with tutoring and reading!
