Toy Story 3, 2010 – a lesson in Humanity

The cowboy and the spaceman. The piggy bank and the green dinosaur.

Toystory3 gang

Thanks to Toy Story and Toy Story 2, these became the most familiar movie characters of all time. With Toy Story 3, the whole gang’s back – along with a few newcomers too.

Namely the meanest pink teddy bear you’ve ever seen. Well, actually Lotso is quite cute. (Lesson 1: Do not be deceived by appearance.)

Toystory3 Lotso

Strawberry smelling some more! ;-)

I have not watched Toy Story or Toy Story 2 & was seriously wondering what’s with the hype of this third installment. I think in the end I watched Toy Story 3 more out of curiousity than anything else.

Movies

And I must admit, Toy Story was more than just an cartoon. For an animated film, it injected lessons of humanity, life and goes philosophical on human emotions pretty well; thus creating a blend of comedy, adventure, and heart- warming sequel that was simultaneously breezy on the surface and turbulent underneath.

Unlike Sex & The City 2, of which I was tempted to walk out of the cinema halfway through the movie, I barely felt time passed as the story unfolds, binding together lessons of hope and despair, love and hate, friend and enemy, death and rebirth, the ability to forgive and forget throughtout the duration of the film.

No, I didn’t have any urge to cry (someone did challenged that I might). Sorry dude, guess I’m just too jaded for that. But yes, I did finally see what’s was all that hype about ;-)

Amazing that what seems to be a simple cartoon can cover so many lessons and entertain kids and adults…. :)

If you have followed this trilogy since their first installment, you might just get all teary-eyed.

Very, very heart-warming. Brought back old memories from the childhood era.
