I’ve alway been a whisky and cocktails kind of girl.
The process of whisky and various spirits making and the principals for the distillation of whisky and spirits has always been a fascinating topic for me. Same goes for wines.
Thus when the opportunity arises for me to be a part of Whisky Live Singapore I was thrilled, not just of the prospect of tasting, but more so for the learning experience.
Whisky Live prides itself on bringing together the finest whiskies and spirits, great food and a range of education and entertainment.
Aside from the Nikka Coffey Gin and Vodka launch, highlights of this year’s Whisky Live Singapore include an unprecedented whisk(e)y and spirit art showcase, a cocktail and food trail with cocktail booths by spirit types – gin, tequila, rum, etc., and food by different cuisines. There are also samplings of more than 50 brands and 150 expressions of whiskies and spirits.
Thus for 2 days, Whisky Live offers patrons the unique opportunity to sample the whiskies from around world and discover exciting spirits, while mingling with the producers, distillers, and ambassadors all under one roof. There will be sessions highlighting the art that goes into the crafting, bottling and labelling of whisk(e)y and spirits and the art of appreciating fine libation.
Not surprisingly, this annual event (which is in its 8th successful year now), is a sold out affair every time!
Whisky Live 2017 will also be the Asia’s launch for Nikka’s first foray into the gin and vodka scene.
The Nikka Coffey Gin is made of 11 botanicals, including a quadruple combination of citrus fruits, namely yuzu, kabosu, amanatsu, and shikuwasa from Japan with sansho pepper, juniper, angelica, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, and apple juice. The final product delivers a potent but well-balanced citrus and herbal notes with a slight touch of heat and spice and ends with an unforgettably bold bitterness.
The Nikka Coffey Vodka, esteemed as the purest expression of the Nikka Coffey range, is attained by blending specifically selected distillate made from corn and barley and then carefully refined through white birch charcoal.
All of the above sounds fantastic yes? 🙂
Well, join me!
