It was certainly an experience like none before.

For RM158++, (if you’re not going to guzzle on the bubbly), the spread is totally worth your dough. Naturally the premium selections of fresh oysters and Japanese eel, not one but 3 kinds of lamb (yes, lamb- lover me was thrilled to bits!), sashimi and seafood were in abundance; and better still, in numerous forms of preparation.

Smoked and cured salmon.

DESSERTS were amazing. A new pastry chef has recently taken over the realm in Shook! & he’s doing an excellent job! His creations borders on the familiar yet flawlessly executed.
The texture, the taste and the presentation of each cake/sweet/pastry was perfect!

Toffee Apples! Now, this is not something you see at every buffet right!?

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-25

A macaron tower may be commonplace….

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-23

….but how about a cream puff tower? With the Masquerades logo on chocolate too! Small luxurious touches like this sets the Sunday Masquerades Brunch at Shook! aparts from the rest.

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-10

This was divine. Creamy custard in pumpkin. I love pumpkins so I may be biased, but the custard itself was very very good!

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-12

Assortment of cakes of which I took a small slice each to sample. Whether’s it’s chocolate, it’s mousse, or it’s cheese, all were satisfying first-rate. There were certainly no room for complaints; at least not from me.

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-95

Even the chocolate fountain aims to break away from the ordinary. Here we have pandan-flavoured flowing chocolate!

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-09

For RM158++ (or with bubbly RM268++), you are entitled to order a main course from the ala-carte menu too!

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-40

The above was the cod from the Western menu but there were different selections of mains from Chinese/Japanese/Italian menu as well.

Stir fried clams. – from the Chinese menu.

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-41

I went for the Lamb Rack, though when it came it didn’t look like one.

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-92

However, it was not up to my expectations tastewise. I just thought it could have been tastier. Also, a fair warning here, the mains did took quite a while to be served.

Shook! Masquerade Brunch - Starhill-93

But fret not, there’s more than enough to distract you from the Sunday Masquerades Brunch!

Here’s the rest of the spread!!

Everything is visually appetising as well as effective in sending your salivary glands into overdrive. This fish is so skillfully done no?
