Weekends are made for long brunches, easy laughter and total relaxation.
It shouldn’t be anything less than that. But it could be made better when champagne are poured. 😀
The place to be every Sunday is at Prego, Westin Kuala Lumpur for their re-energised Sunday brunch called Branzo. Branzo was derived from the word ‘Pranzo’, meaning a traditional Italian lunch.
As you may have guessed, the “b” for Branzo came from “breakfast/brunch”.
Start your Branzo with welcoming cocktails at the bar before being ushered to your seat. Moving away from the traditional buffet brunch, Branzo allows you to sit back, relax and indulge as cheery service staff deliver an array of ala-minute Italian favourites to your table.
As you warm your seat, sip more bubbly.
Unless you’re on a liquid (champagne) diet (it’s possible, we won’t judge), the assorted platter of antipasto consisting of gratin of scallops, calamari, eggplant parmigiana, caprese, caesar salad, prawns, breakfast eggs and garlic & rosemary focaccia will slowly purr your engine into life.
Obviously the brunch is made for sharing, and the portions varies according to the number of people in your group. This is for 2.
Scallops in the morning? Why not? 😀
The platter was a fabulous start; freshly fried non-greasy calamari rings, fresh caprese cheese, fibres from the salad, assorted eggs (oh breakfast is never complete without eggs yes?!) and soft eggplant parmigiana.
Different textures, different flavours. It was like a platter of fun food!
Refills of the same dish is possible, but unnecessary. What was served from the beginning to the end of the Branzo session would certainly be enough to satisfy even the most hearty of appetite. With the free flow of Moet, Branzo ensures you’ll stagger out of Prego happy. 😀
A lovely Sunday spent with family, friends, your spouses or even a gathering of business associates. I can’t think of a better Sunday! 🙂
After the starters a soup and two selections of pasta and lasagna will be served. Meanwhile the service staff will be making their rounds offering you a selection of gourmet pizzas from Prego’s famed wood fired oven and risotto.
Clockwise from top left: Spaghetti with Clams, Casarecce with Lamb Ragout, Beef Lasagne and Prego Chicken Ravioli in Chicken Broth.
The best of the lot –Â Casarecce with Lamb Ragout.
If you’re seeking a good risotto and been lamenting that you can’t find one in KL, then this is the answer to our woes.
Superb, lip-smacking carbs that made me forgot the size of my thighs, my diet, my tight dresses. If you’re ever here for Branzo, stop the service staff immediately if you see one walking around with this. Then ask him to serve you a nice big portion. You won’t regret it.
Meat and seafood lovers will be pleased as the main course offers a scrumptious and indulgent medley of Prego’s slow roasted lamb leg, prawns, seasonal fish, Australian Angus sirloin and spring chicken with potato.
It was of course the main that I was most looking forward to since sitting down that morning. Roast lamb leg and Angus sirloin.. perfect doneness, texture and flavours. Absolutely no complaints from me!
Did I mention that the portions are generous as well? This is for 2.
“A meal is ever complete without desserts”. I CONCUR.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with a choice of Prego’s including our Signature Prego Mud Pie, Ice Cream Strawberry Mascarpone Tart, Tiramisu and warm Peach and Banana Crumble.
And that’s not all. A selections of the finest cheese are also on offer as a perfect ending to your meal.

Limoncello to help you digest.
