I’ve written about the food here and shared many photos on my social platforms about my stay here. I’m sure all my friends and readers are assured of my fondness for this hotel.
Now, it is time to show you the very suite I spent 3 days 2 nights in, and the very bathtub that I played with bubbles and even savoured my in-room continental breakfast.
I’ve got 2 videos here; which took me forever to edit (my video editing skills is amateurish at best) hence the late follow up to the rest of my Majestic Hotel KL articles.
The first video is of my suite – The Governer Suite, a grade up from the Colonial Suite.
I have wanted to add effects, text and so on but since all I know is Window Movie Maker (my video editing class in Arte Academy seems to be postphone infinitely), I decided to upload this version anyways else it will never get published.
It is a bit shaky at some parts, but overall it is clear enough for you to have an idea of the layout and space of the fine suite.
Next video is the Majestic Suite, a RM10,000 ++/night unit that you and I can also dream of luxuriating in its bed.
See the difference?
Staying at the Governer Suite (or any of the suites here) means a whole load of additional benefits; beginning with having your own personal butler, limousine services to certain areas (Bukit Bintang or within 30km radius of Majestic Hotel), complimentary laundry, breakfast in bed (or tub) and access to Lounge and Bar where there is a pool table at your perusal.
I had a good time playing a few games, it’s been a while since I played!
The Lounge and Bar. A great spot to be away from the activities and chatter in the Colonial Cafe.
Order yourself a martini if you wish. No one will judge. 🙂
Library: For me I rather like the library for secluded reading. No drinks to be ordered here though.
Card Room: For guests to engage in a game or two of bridge, whist or cribbage. The room is also conducive for a small private meeting or discussion.
Cigar Room: complete with cigar jacket to keep the smoke off your clothes.
Screening Room: Movies available are Black and White classics from the ‘30s onwards. Comforts include comfortable leather reclining cinema chairs, theatre-style ambiance and a fabulous surround sound system.
It is likewise ideal for theatre style presentations and movie viewing gatherings for small groups so do consider organising such events here next time!
Oh, I believe you can order a drink from the bar too.
Private Dining Room: This elegant dining room comes with a personal Chef who will assist you in crafting your ideal menu for a table of 10 guests.
If you are looking for an entirely private and exclusive event, this is it.
For guests’ convenience, The Majestic Luxury Coach services operate regularly to Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station, Starhill Gallery, the stylish mall in the Bukit Bintang shopping district of the city and Mid Valley Shopping Mall.
Pick up/drop off is from the front lobby of the hotel at the Tower Wing.
For those staying in the suites, you will have access to the private limousine service.
Hence as a guest of the Governor Suite in the The Majestic Hotel YTL Kuala Lumpur I got unlimited pick-up & drop-off services in KL within 10 km from 0800 – 2300 hours. No driving around for me during my (your) stay!
For this private service, the pick up/drop off is from the private foyer at the Majestic Wing.
For relaxation we took full advantage of the Majestic Spa, and for him, the Truefitt and Hill grooming for men. You can view more pictures from the links at the end of this post.
The hotel offers 2 pools; one at the front of the Majestic Spa, ground floor and another at the 4th floor of the Tower Wing.
In our Malaysian weather, the swimming pool is a welcome reprieve. Choose to dive in for a refreshing dip or simply soak in the sun and relax by the water.
Fitness enthusiast will find the gym adequate with state of the art cardiovascular equipped with IPod station and USB, complete with free weights and resistance equipment and stations.
The Colonial Cafe and the Orchid Conservatory is famous for their afternoon tea sets. But do visit for a cuppa or just for a tête-à-tête with friends.
It is a lovely place with natural sunlight, plush cushions, cosy Colonial ambiance and exemplary service.
Full details on their lovely tea pastries at the bottom of the post. 🙂
Personally I find the Drawing Room “masculine” to my taste. However it is private and certainly suited to serious discussions and negotiations.
With its rich history and grand building, the Majestic Hotel is expectedly popular for weddings and functions.
The resplendent pillarless Majestic Ballroom seats 1,200 for a banquet or 1,500 theatre-style. A large pre-function area is available for cocktails or exhibitions.
The area is equipped with state of the art audio and visual facilities. Majestic Hotel also boast of the largest LED wall in any ballroom in Malaysia.
For smaller events, 17 elegant function rooms allow flexibility when organising conferences, meetings and seminars.
Need ideas?
Majestic’s team of professional banqueting and meeting planners are ever-ready to work with every organiser to ensure the success of your event.
Last but not least, here are the pictures of my suite.
I encourage you to watch the video (above) to have a better idea of the orientation and space of the suite.
The Governor Suite comes with a living room, all inclusive bar (yes, drink and eat all you want), breakfast at Contango or room service, sumptuous ensuite bathroom with a separate rain shower and claw foot bathtub plus complimentary laundry services.
I have a beautiful view from my suite; overlooking the the iconic Moorish style railway station, making waking up in the mornings like a dream.
Tilting my gaze to the left, the azure pool greets me, and always beckoning me for a dip.
While some may prefer to laze in front of a TV, I’m usually perky after a good night’s rest and breakfast. The gym is where I’ll be at.
A hard workout calls for a soak in the tub afterwards.
The same Mangosteen brand are provided at Majestic Hotel KL, Gaya Island Resort and Vistana Hotel KL.
It is a Malaysian toiletry brand and the profits from its sales is claimed to be distributed to charities or re-invested in growing the business (find out more HERE).
I sent all my clothes to be pressed and hung up after checking in the day before, and they were all back in my closet, nicely pressed and hung up barely 3 hours after. This laundry service is a complimentary for all guests of their suites (Colonial, Governor & Majestic).
Sweet! 🙂
The bed is expectedly firm and there is a pillow selection provided so I called for a firmer pillow.
The Majestic Wing, where the suites are located is within the original historic hotel building.
All the 47 luxurious suites exude old world elegance and impart a sense of history. But as you observed here, despite the vintage charm, the suites also feature tastefully modern furnishings, which is a perfect mix of past and present.
And of course there are WIFI.
Im very particular about powerpoints since I’m a traveler with several battery-draining gadgets on me.
I’m pleased to report that there are sufficient power plugs in the living room and bedroom for 2 pax; each with our laptops, smartphones, battery pack and cameras.
All in all, a stay at the Majestic Hotel (I stayed at the Melaka’s Majestic Hotel before as well, though only for one night during a Honda media drive) is an experience to be cherished if you are a fan of colonial buildings.
After all, it is the only hotel in Kuala Lumpur to be included in the Leading Hotels of the World luxury hotel collection.
Thank you Majestic Hotel KL for having me. 🙂
