Starbucks has got new food options on its menu! :yahoo:
I’m not fond of chain- cafes food; but most unfortunately, more often than not, (*frown*) I find myself in Starbucks for business meetings too many times a week for my liking.
Yet we can’t deny that Starbucks is an ideal meeting point. Easily recognisable, available everywhere & most importantly, there is FREE WIFI provided for convenient browsing.
Coincidentally, the Christmas season is upon us, and hence the Christmas Toffee Nut Latte and Peppermint Mocha made their appearances again. Overall feedback on the Toffee Nut Latte was “too sweet” while the the Peppermint Mocha was highly recommended from those who have tried it. Myself sipped the Mango Passion for the 1st time & immediately got hooked as it was not too sweet or sour. Very refreshing & easy to drink.
I had the opportunity to sample their new food menu with some friends just last week and I’m giving thumbs up to the savoury & oh-so-Malaysian Kapitan Pie, RM6.90, with its beautiful flaky pastry layers. I love the curry filling but I do hope Starbucks can look into increasing the portion as I felt like I was eating only pastry after a while. The OZZIE ROLL, RM5.50, a traditional flavorful sausage meat encased in butter puff pastry was ok.
* beautiful flaky pastry…
CHOCOLATE TUXEDO. RM9.00.
This decadent cake is a winner!
Chocolate ganache as its top layer, with smooth white chocolate mousse & its unique centre of crushed chocolate (Oreos) biscuit paired with more chocolate mousse, this cake makes any meetings at Starbucks tolerable. LOL.
Below: I’m loving the layers! Alternating layers of choc sponge, choc ganache..white choc mousse, crushed oreos base…HHmmmm..
Peanut butter creme brule. Another highly recommended cake! Well, it could be that I love peanut butter hence I liked this, but it’s hard to go wrong with chocolate & peanut butter anyway, both a match that’s meant to be paired!
MARBLE CHEESE CAKE. RM9.00. A mixture of premium cheese and finest quality chocolate creates the beautiful marbling effect of this cake. The chewy base is made up of mixture of chocolate chips, crushed cashew nuts and cocoa.
Buttery scone with blueberry filling and crumbly top. RM7.50. A total let-down. I had better at The Haute Food Co in Plaza Damas.
BLUEBERRY CHEESE CAKE. RM9.00.
With sweet and tangy blueberry filling sandwiched in the centre and topped with whole blueberries, this cake is a pleasant spin-off from the traditional cheese cake.
JAZZY LEMON CHEESE CAKE. RM9.00. The name says it all. Slightly zesty, smooth light cake which is an ideal choice for a lesser guilty treat.
BUTTERSCOTCH CINNAMON ROLL. RM4.80.
Essentially, it is cinnamon roll topped with sticky butterscotch toffee coated walnuts and sprinkled with cinnamon powder.
If you are looking for a more substantial meal, the CHICKEN PASTA STACK – RM14.90 could be a good choice. The square cut lasagne-like dish would definitely fill you up better than the other pastries, since the pasta sheets are so thick! The sheets were generously laden with tomato sauce, seasoned with herbs & spices with bits of chicken (not much really) & diced vegetables. A thick layer of cheese topped off the ensemble.
Toasted sandwich, RM6.50. Wholemeal bread filled with scrambled eggs seasoned with spices & sliced sausages. To top it off, the cover of this triangularly cut sandwich is spread with béchamel sauce and sprinkled with cheese. I personally would have preferred a better quality sausage, for example like the one used in the OZZIE ROLL.
Bagel Sandwich: RM6.90. This is actually an old item. I have ordered it once before during one of my meetings. The scrambled eggs; seasoned with pepper & tossed with red & green bell peppers for a spicy tinge and topped with slices of sausages and cheese were decent for a quick snack. My advice: Eat it when it’s hot.
Meet another old timer, the Tiramisu.
And the Shepherd’s Pie, which is one of the best selling food item in Starbucks ever since it was featured in the menu.
ESPRESSO ECLAIRE. RM3.80.
Soft and light choux pastry filled with silky – smooth rich espresso filling, topped with dark chocolate. I find this too dry & absolutely ordinary.
**All food items are now available at all major Starbucks outlet.
Oh, I didn’t get to try the NEW Choc Cherry Muffin & I have heard it’s good! Well, you know now what I’ll be ordering for my next meeting in Starbucks! 😉
yum yum… the chocolate tuxedo looks super yummy! 🙂
It is! :good:

Oh my goodness – that’s a lot of food to try in one seating… 🙂
(I’ve got my eyes on the Chocolate Tuxedo and the Peanut Butter Creme Brulee!)
I took bite sizes of each only la.
And the yummy ones I eat more lor! Hahahah
all looks good….how to resist>???1
Go for the Choc Tuxedo and Peanut Butter Brulee !
phew, luckily i don’t have meetings at starbucks! though the chocolate tuxedo sounds nice if it’s fresh and moist 😀
Yup, cos I got feedback tht it’s not very nice when it’s not so fresh (which is normal la, any food left in the chiller too long aint gonna impress anyone)!
Love their Toffee Nut Latte and Toffee Nut Frappuccino. The only thing I would go for / eat when I’m in Starbucks is their Chicken Finger Sandwich. Maybe I should try their Chocolate Tuxedo on my next visit. Hehe.
Oh? There is a chic finger sandwich??
this is a first, to review food from starbucks!
never thought much for their food, although their cakes do create the occasional drooling at nite.
Yup!
When there is somethin new to feature la.
Actually cafes like Starbucks, Coffee Bean etc should have new items every quarter. I mean, look at their traffic! Loads of ppl actually order food/snack with their drinks.
I once had Apple Crumble in Starbucks penang and I fell in love with it. But when I came to KL, I found that there’s no Apple Crumble sold here at all! I wonder if it’s only available in Penang outlets… The new menu has a lot of new cakes, I see!
Penang?? That’s funny hor.
If different country then I can understand the difference in the menu.
Yup, lots of new cakes :rose:
:good:
Meery Xmas baybe!
*hugs*
# XmasTwitup makan anytime soon?
i want that blueberry cheese cake! so tempting!
Drop by any Starbucks outlet for a slice :bye:
Chocolate Tuxedo is the bomb! i died when i first tried it hahaha.
oh, and instead of Mango Passion Frappuccino Blended Juice, you should try Mango Soy Frappuccino Blended Juice (not on menu). instead of passion tea, they replace it with soy milk. it should end up tasting something like mango yogurt drink. if they look puzzled when you ask for it, confirm new barista lol. i’ve recommended it to some friends, and almost all of them made it their regular drink. try and tell me whatchu think 😉
OMG! I didnt I can do that!
Thks babe! Finally I have somethin to drink whenever I’m stuck in a meeting at Starbucks!
