Sony launched the A5000 recently and I’m one of the first few to take home a unit for play. 🙂
The A5000 offers DSLR-style quality and creative power without weighing the user down. At 210g (minus lens), the A5000 is a serious step up from ordinary point-and-shoot cameras.
This baby puts pro-style picture quality in a beautifully designed body complete with the handgrip re-styled for sure, steady handling.
Its compact body also accommodates a built-in flash; handy for dimly-lit scenes.
Appearance-wise the #sonyAlpha5000 would be easily mistaken for its predecessors of NEX bodies. But just like every NEX model upgrade, there are solid improvements on its features:
- Large 20.1MP Exmor™ APS-C HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ X™ processor for beautifully detailed images
- 180° tiltable LCD screen for easy self-portraits
- Light, compact body with pop-up flash

Seriously, if you’re a semi pro or pro, the possibilities are endless.
For the novice, the camera’s sensor and technology would provide you with the ability to snap fabulous images even on Auto mode.
This image got me runner up in the bloggers’ competition event last week. Too bad there weren’t any prizes for runner ups! 🙁
I was thinking of submitting this one as well. But we were only allowed to submit ONE image.

From inside the window pane of our room in Carcosa Seri Negara I was trying to capture the squirrel on the tree. Not sure if you could see it?
The moving squirrel was a challenge, but the swift auto focus of the A5000 did help.

The Sony Alpha 5000/Sony α5000/α5000 interchangeable lens digital camera from Sony will be available in Malaysia from mid of February 2014 in pink, white and black. Co-ordinating beautifully with the 5000, the versatile SEL55210 (E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS) telephoto zoom lens will be available for twin lens package along with SEL1650 in matching black finish only.
