I’m always on the hunt for churros.
And just this morning I read on EatDrinkKL that a new soft serve eatery opened in Damansara Uptown, and they offer churros with soft serve!
The thought of having 2 of my favourite items combined as one dessert got me making plans to visit Softsrve Ice-Cream & Dessert Bar by the afternoon.
I finally walked into the small, pristinely white and somewhat spartan cafe in the evening, dragging 2 friends along with a plan.
The plan was I will order the churros, and they will each order a vanilla and chocolate soft serve.
My little bubble bursted when they told me there were no churros available.
I lost interest instantly, but since we were already there we decided to sample at least one. The original Cereal Milk is supposedly softserve with blended cereal. We thought getting acquainted with the original seems to be a good start.
So here is our Cereal Milk – Breakfast (RM12). It came topped with half a mini macaron shell and perhaps 2 tablespoons of crunchy cereal.
Softsrve is currently running a 20% discount for all soft serve til their launch on the 7th March so we paid RM9.60 for this.
The soft serve is ONLY in the upper SMALL cup which is placed over the tall one. So don’t be fooled into thinking that your soft serve is a full, tall cup.
We were astonished when we discovered that.
Taste-wise MilkCow certainly triumphs over Softsrv (disclaimer : personal preference for the 3 of us) for Sofrsrv’s version lacked the full body milkiness that we prefer. In addition to that I found it to be quite sweet and the cereal flavour barely discernible.
Does RM12 seems expensive to you?
The tall cup has dry ice at the bottom which explains the smoke. Other than theatrics it serves to keep the temperature low so that the soft serve melt so slower.

Hi, I’ve not try this place. But I’ve tried MilkCow, and personally, I think their soft serve ice cream is not that good. The next time when you’re in Hong Kong, do give Honey Creme HK a try. Their soft serve ice cream and honey comb is da bomb!!!
came here last week, and felt really cheated. i’m paying a PREMIUM price for such a SMALL cup!! NEVER GOING BACK!
Hi Sara, I feel u.
Even my companions were shocked when I took the small cup up from the big one!
yes, i personally take that just an normal ice-cream, seem everyone also felt got cheated too. gosh… HAHA.. never mind. just once and never going back.
LOL! I know right!!! 😛
Omg i thought the same too that milkcow surpasses softsrve in terms of its taste! Glad I’m not the only one feeling that way xx
Milkcow uses better quality milk maybe? 🙂 It sure makes a difference!
