Patty and Pie, Aman Suria – wood fire oven pizzas and burgers

A bunch of friends told me that they have been gorging themselves silly on burgers and pizzas from Patty and Pie, a short drive away from their homes in Aman Suria.

Knowing my obsession with burgers (so much less now after all that eating clean lifestyle), they tried to make me forget low carb and tempted me with these burgers from Patty and Pie.
They succeeded.

Salt & Beefy (24) – Salt beef brisket, beef patty, horseradish cream, pickles, lettuce, cheddar.
Fries are included in the price.

Here’s my upfront verdict.
The burgers here are decent. It is a notch above your average roadside burger bakar for sure but still not comparable to myBurgerLab or Burger Junkyard’s offerings.
That is a personal opinion of course.

Prices start from RM16 for the classic cheeseburger to RM30 and above for the more elaborate versions.
The same beef patty is used for all the beef burgers you see below (or at least it seemed so to my friends who had ate about 5 different ones so far).
I have not tried the chicken or vegetarians ones since I’m still working my way through the entire list of bovine burgers.

If you are new to Patty and Pie, get initiated with their Cheeseburger (RM16) – Cheddar, pickles, beef patty, caramelized onion.
Fries are included in the price and though they were nothing to shout about, at least they weren’t sad, soggy strands of tuber.

This is an honest, no frills cheeseburgers that would satisfy your cheeseburger cravings minus major damage to the pocket or health. After all you could do much worse eating a McD equivalent.
The patty remained moist and was cooked to the right doneness. The caramelized onions plus house sauce and a firm bun held everything well together.
I have a weakness for salt beef and it was an unexpected pleasure to find one that is not overly salty and for the price of RM24 which includes 4-5 thick slices of salt beef plus a patty!
Instead of using the same house sauce, the horseradish cream gave just the right amount of zing to the overall assemblage.

Next, the wood fire pizzas.

Lovely crust (some may prefer thinner) with the right amount of char achievable only by a wood fire oven; plus a good base and sufficient ingredients for the price, I understood now why my friends are so fond of the food here.
I wouldn’t mind the burgers and pizzas here from time to time myself; easy parking, no queues and decent prices.

UPDATE: Another visit in Feb 2015 🙂
