This was last Monday, the opening night for the week-long Stylo parties.
I had 6 Stylo parties to attend, and now 6 days after, I have to admit that so far I have only attended this one, as the whole week I’m down with flu and fever and work was crazy.
Anyhow, nothing going to stop me from gracing the MERCEDES-BENZ PETRONAS F1 TEAM BASH tonight!
It’s at this NEW swanky gastrobar called “The Pool” (yup, this is the secret location!) and I just googled yesterday & here’s what I found; their FB page: http://www.facebook.com/thepoolkl where they are rewarding 2000 FB fans in 4 different parties!
Crazy! Head over to http://www.facebook.com/thepoolkl if you want to score yourself an invite!
Back to Stylo.
The opening night for the week-long Stylo parties was hosted in partnership with DBKL at the KL Tower. Themed “Fashion Fantasies”, the designs featured that night was well, made up from fantasies.
The jaw-dropping “Food to Art, Art to Fashion” segment which opened the night took everyone by surprise.
THE BREAD MAN.
Featuring the work of 20 emerging fashion students mentored by Bill Keith and assisted by top chefs of Hilton KL, Executive Chef Ivan Susanj and Chef Benoit, the designs were complete work of art, WEARABILITY ASIDE!
The CORN GIRL.
THE ICE CREAM CONE LADY.
FANCY SOME PASTA ON ME?
This dress has pasta + mushrooms!
And that big ass is also what you’ll get if you eat too much pasta. :DD
But the models are all skinny of course. Anyhow, let’s welcome the VEGEMAN!
Under the seaaaaaaaaa………..we have Seaweed Girl!
The only one that I found wearable was this HERB DRESS.
I wish I have taken a better shot. the Sony NEx 5n is seriously slow in capturing moving objects! Darn the shutter speed! 🙁
The rest of the night saw designs from 10 top designers of the Bumiputera Designers Association. They were backed by leading hairstylist Winnie Loo of A Cut Above.
Their designs shows twist of modernity to the old style. It paid tribute to the great Malaysian performing artistes and fashion icons of our time, Saloma & P. Ramlee.
I loved some of the outfits; nostalgic yet featuring some cutting edge details.
The men are not left out either. Though it will take a while for our typical Malaysian men (read: skinny/fat/geeky/plain boring) to be able to carry these designs!
I hardly had time to dress myself up nor pile on makeup. Let’s hope that’s not the case for tonight! Please work, spare me some time to “meng-cantikkan diri”! LOL.
Saving the best for last, I think I’ll tailor this for myself! Nice?? 🙂
Tonight’s ultimate F1 party will give guests an opportunity to catch some of the biggest names in motor-racing. Up-and-coming couturiers Ellie and Matilda are featured as well.
Now to finish more work before I head off! 🙂
