Dinner at The Mill last week was a tantalizing spread of the freshest seafood (succulent fresh oysters, rare Alaska king crabs, slipper lobsters, yabbies, flower crabs, tiger prawns, scallops, mussels and clams) plus an international selection of main courses, appetisers, salads, soups and desserts at The Mill, Grand Millennium Hotel.
All of that for RM138++/pax.
The Alaska King Crab were naturally briny-sweet and so fresh! I enjoyed them and the slipper lobster plus the yabbies on its own.
However, if you must, the dips available are Virgin Bloody Mary (mixed of fresh tomatoes and juice, Tabasco and lemon), Balsamic Red Onion (Chef recommended this with the fresh oysters and it was a superb pairing), Lemongrass Chilli, wasabi mayo, fresh mayo and Garlic Chilli sauce.
Below: My preferred dips that are uniquely Chef’s creations – Balsamic Red Onion, Virgin Bloody Mary and the Lemongrass Chilli.
Oyster lovers will get their money worth here.
Mollusks galore; some in sauces while others are kept plain in its fresh glory.
Gosh I love these; anyone a fan of them like me? 🙂
I particularly favour the Surf & Turf – beef and scallops salad in raspberry dressing as well as the Poached Salmon and Cucumber Salad in full sour cream dressing.
The scallops are plump and sweet while the poached salmon were cooked to the perfect level of doneness and had just the right amount of dressing; nothing surprising considering that Chef Laurent Lherisson is known to have exceeding standards.
I have dined in The Mill on numerous occasions and had always enjoyed the spread; especially so for the Indian and Japanese section as well as the seafood on ice.
These lightly cooked prawns retained the best of their flavours. And I must reiterate, for RM138++, you can eat as many as you want!
Next I must recommend the the Salmon Gravalax.
I must have had 10 slices at least though I’m not a salmon gravalax fan. I find most (if not all) gravalax preparation too salty for me (yes, I know it is brined so it is supposed to be salty hence I just avoid gravalax in general).
Besides, I love my salmon as raw as possible but this was slippery fresh and hardly salty thus it was a pleasant surprise.
