For previous postings and an idea of Nathalie’s specialties:
June & July’s menu is HERE..
** August Menu HERE..plus..
** September Menu: HERE,
and October Menu: HERE & Oct 2nd visit HERE.
Whew! That’s a lot of visits! 😉
I’m a bit late for my Nov visit, simply cos work got in the way. Lunches longer than 30mins are a luxury really. Anyhow, I’m uploading the menu & pics 1st. Review coming up after I finish my work!
Note: All pics taken with the Nexus One as in my hunger & haste, I forgot BOTH my Sony NEX -3 and Sony DSC-N2!!
Let me share with you her menu for the month of November cos if you are planning to visit, you can start to budget now. Haha..
Nathalie’s is open for breakfast as well. I’ve heard great reviews of her cannele and buttery brioches.
My chosen starter: Tuna Tartare in (Mille Feuille), Pistachio & Sesame Seeds, mustard cream, RM25. I have weakness for anything that’s labelled “tartare” 😉 and this was a superb choice!
My main – Slow cooked spicy lamb shank, lemon (confit), Spring veg in spicy broth, RM57. It wasn’t spicy at all! But more on that later…
Dessert: Crepe (aumoniere) with Autumn Fruits, Pear Sorbet, Fruit Caramel Sauce, RM20. Not that great, only the pear sorbet was worthy of mention.
And yes, another visit is in order! I saw plates of Cod fish & duck breasts (someone warned me that it was tough 🙁 ) served at other tables & they looked really good!

Wah, one trip per month. Not bad, did she notice that you’re an ardent fan of hers?
Maybe you can request for off-the-menu items the next time.
Maybe!
Oh, 2 trips per month actually
I was there for lunch today with a friend. two of us cost RM250. only three tables yet service was a little slow. since it was a long lunch day (friday) we didn’t really mind. we ordered the caneles (takeaway)the same time as the mains, knowing they had needed time to prepare it. when it was time to pay and leave, we were told the caneles were not ready and they needed another 10 mins to get it done. in the meantime, my friend popped down to get some tutti frutti yoghurt (takeaway for dessert at her desk), while i ordered a coffee. it turned out to be a 25 min wait, which they did not apologise for. during this wait, my friend started eating her yoghurt as it was starting to melt. when the caneles were ready and we were heading out the door, the manager came to us and told us to please eat the yoghurt at the place we bought it from, and not to eat it in their restaurant in the future.
i just spent RM250 in your restaurant, and while the food was better than most we get outside, was it necessary to reprimand us as we were heading out the door over a RM10 yogurt? Furthermore, we had to wait an extra 30 mins for the caneles, and there were only 3 tables taken. I can understand if there was a queue of people waiting to come in and you needed the space. we ordered starters, mains, dessert, coffee. surely you could look the other way if we ate some yogurt that was melting while we waited for you to prepare the caneles that your waitress forgot.
i’ve been here before, and found the food not too bad. but this experience has ruined the experience of dining at this place, and i will definitely not be back again.
Oh my, So sorry to hear that!
Hmm ..I agree the service is a bit spotty at times, I have waited a while too for my orders.
But as for the yogurt part, I guess there should have been an explanation from NGS for the delay of your caneles.
I have alwys gone back for the food, and by now I was used to it (the service). Also, I made it a point to go at 12-1230pm.
But I do get the msg you are conveying.
I hope NGS took note of this and improve on their communication!
Dear Sir,
Sorry this bad experience and the inconvenience caused during your last lunch at Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio. However the story seems to be a little bit different from our point of view. We will not argue on the time and money you spent on 26th November when you came for lunch with your girlfriend but I think you would easily understand that eating a dish from another « restaurant » is not something we can allow. I seriously doubt you can bring a Cheese Burger from Burger King to Lafitte. This is not a matter of RM 250 vs RM 10 but a matter of principles.
Anyway, I apologize to you and your girlfriend for the delay in your order and hope you also understand our point of view.
Best regards,
Ben
Thanks Ben for the response. I hope love_my_food gets the message.
