I just came back from gorging on 8 burgers (thankfully not full sized) and I feel like a big, fat juicy burger myself now.
Oh my god. I think I’ll stay away from burgers for a while.
The session tonight was to judge and sample some original creations from the staff of myburgerlab. My, these guys sure did learn a thing or two from working here. Not contented with clearing tables and chopping onions, these young aspiring chefs now steps into “product creation & menu planning” as well!
I need some sleep now so here’s the description and pictures til I’m up from slumberland.
But hey, here’s your chance to be a “judge” too! Leave a comment on which burger you would like to see being permanently available on the menu of myburgerlab and who knows, the fellas of MBL might just take your vote into consideration. No promises but you can try! 🙂
Burger No. 1: Zoid Burger – Prawns, rempeyek crackers, myburgerlab curry sauce, blueberry jam, rocket leaves.
Burger no. 2: Kokomo. It’s in reference to the song by the Beach Boys.
This has got fresh coconut flesh with carbonara sauce in it.
Burger No 3: Monster Mash. Served with chicken or beef patty, secret sauce which consist of mayo, cilantro, Thai chilli.
Burger No. 4: Love at First Bite. This was an intriguing creation with chocolate chips!
The chocolate flavour was distinctive enough on the palate and it does taste good. But overall it was a tad complicated on the palate with the addition of nachos (but good for the crunch), onions, cheese, enoki and shitake as well as the standard lettuce and tomatoes.

Burger No. 5: Despicable Me. Cute name, sweet ingredients. Fried pineapples with fried bananas, drizzled with maple syrup.
Burger No. 6: Whack-A-Mole. The winning ingredient (guacamole in this case) didn’t quite win some of us over. But guacamole has been a popular addition to burgers for a long while. I’m sure it will work, just a bit of tweaking needed.
Burger No. 7: Say Mac & Cheese. This got all of us really excited. 🙂
It was easily twice the size of the earlier burgers – a thick deep fried cake of mac + cheese + ham on top of myburgerlab’s juicy chicken patty, mushrooms plus green sauce and the A+ sauce (both myburgerlab’s house sauces).
We find the beef version a tad salty (likely because of the salt crust) but had better luck when paired with the chicken.
Burger No. 8: Juxtapose – a dessert burger!
Ice cream, hashbrown, beef bacon bits, lychee jelly, crushed nuts & peanut butter.
Damn it’s hard not to like this one! 🙂
The Juxtapose has a lot of potential.
Just think of the amount of ice cream flavours that would work. Coffee, strawberry, durian, bacon (yes bacon ice cream – I had it before by The Last Polka), blue cheese ice cream. Imagine if this is ever on the menu. Customers can request for different ice cream flavours for the one and only dessert burger!
And I’m thinking of adding chewy, pillowy soft mashmallows… what do you think? 🙂
By the way, myburgerlab has a new burger – The Cthulhu. Yea, good luck trying to pronounce it.
But it’s a one helluva tasty burger with deep fried OYSTERS. And I love the “Evil Cocktail Sauce”.
The folks over at myburgerlab does really good sauces. Here are some at our disposal tonight: Egg mayo (even their egg mayo is not as simple as it sounds!), seaweed (so umami!), curry, the house special sauce and another is BBQ (I think).

the kokomo looks good but I’m not so sure how the coconut flesh will blend in with the patty… haven’t been to myburgerlab yet. Maybe someday la i will visit them 🙂

some awesome creation they got. my pick with be monster mash and say mac & cheese.the monster mash has a creative sauce mix..and i love thai cili..and deep fried mac & cheese?oh i want to try those too!! 😛

Seriously aiming at Kokomo & Whack-A-Mole, even though I may consider Mac n Cheese too. Oh my tummy is calling for those burgers.
I am not a fan of sweet stuff when comes to burgers but my 1st choice would be Whack-A-Mole but I am open to Mac & cheese or Love at First Bite as i love pasta & chocolate ;). Looking forward to get my teeth in them.
