Thanks to Daniel for this and I’m glad that Natasha hasn’t lost her showmanship. 🙂

This is a way over due post but it was one of the most exclusive and enjoyable event I have ever been invited.
It started a on Facebook when I was just hanging out when my friend Rebecca Saw asked to her friends “Who love Natasha Bedingfield?“. I was like ” OMG, she is amazing“.
I been a fan of her work since her debut single, Single which says a lot about her humor to have her first single called Single. It was a song that connected to me as I was just out of a relationship at that time.
So when Rebecca message me and asked me if I would like to meet her and I said YES!
Rebecca then connected me to the lovely people from Starwood group and explained that Natasha is Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) Hear The Music See The World.
This is where SPG will be bringing in great artists around the world to their various hotels and luckily for me, Natasha is being flown in to the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
And for those who has no idea who is Natasha Bedingfield, she is the Grammy Award winning British musician who was buzzing the airwave with her song Unwriten in 2006.
I arrived at 4pm for the press conference where Irene Lin, Director – Distribution, Loyalty & Partnership Marketing, Asia-Pacific was sharing a bit on the benefits of joining SPG.
It seems that they organised many what they call “SPG experience events” such as driving sessions with a famous F1 driver or tennis workshops with world class tennis players.
Being an avid traveller, I personally find the benefit of having no black out dates for room reservations appealing which is part of their No Black Out policy.
The event begin promptly enough with Natasha walking into the room dressed in a flowery top. She quickly engaged the audience with her quirky banter.
Her blonde hair was a bit of a surprise to me but there she was in a the flesh so I didn’t think too much of it.
We were then allow to take turns to grab a picture with her. She was absolutely friendly and a nice person to talk to.
After the photo session, we got to chill out a bit with some specially designed cocktail. I am more of a whisky guy but they were really tasty.
The ambience of the hotel was so modern and it feels more like you are in a modern art museum than a hotel. I even managed to catch up with some work while chilling on the bean bag while we waited for the performance to start.
At around 9pm, the door open, me and the other guest took our seats. After a quick intro by Paolo Campillo, General Manager Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Natasha came on stage accompanied by her guitarist.
She played her various classics including Single, Unwritten but strangely for me, the best part of her performance was how she rift Purple Rain by Prince and forgotten the lyrics halfway.
Her friendly personality on stage is truly wonderful and watching her live is truly an experience you do not want to miss. Even it was slightly an hour, she was still delivering a superb performance and the audience love it as evidence people starting to crowd to the front of the stage and started dancing and singing to her tunes.
I feel after meeting her in person, her attitude in life is really like her lyrics ” Live your life with arms wide open, Today is where your book begins, The rest is still unwritten.”
I would like to thank Rebecca for hooking me up and the team at SPG, Cindy and Irene. Thanks for the enjoyable night.
