Now this is a McDonalds that I’ll be pay daily patronage to!
Why?
Well, take a tour of this 8,439 sq ft space by watching this video and I’m sure you won’t mind visiting this McDonald’s after this!
Personally I got hooked when I heard there is a SALAD BAR.
Yes, one doesn’t go to McD’s for salads but there are people like me who enjoys salads and would love to be able to enjoy my McD burgers with a salad. What’s wrong with salads really?
But the better news is, there are 3 ready-to-eat salad bowls (Asian ($5.50), Caesar ($5.50) and Classic green ($3.90),) in addition to a salad bar for you to create your own salads.
The options are decent too; with soft sliced avocados to bacon bits, all in total about 10 ingredients.
In fact, if you do not like McD’s burgers you have enjoy many meals here without having to order any of their burgers.
Frankly, these gourmet samdwiches looked pretty fine to me and they came with decent prices too.
This 8,439 sq ft McDonald’s Marine Cove is meant to be “a testbed” for the chain to incubate new products before they are implemented in other outlets in Singapore.
For example, the current 3 new additions to its premium burgers selection are not available elsewhere other than this outlet and I can personally assure you that these 3 are good –> Classic Cheese, Spicy Tortilla and Spicy Chicken with Apple Slaw.
The Spicy Tortilla is SPICY, even for a spicy eater like I am. The Classic Cheese is absolutely pleasant to eat as the sauce is sweetish and the whole burger is juicy thanks to the abundance of sauce and thick cuts of tomatoes.
Next to the newly installed salad bar is McCafe. Select your soups, gourmet sandwiches and sweet treats such as Affogato and Belgian waffles here, plus the coffee, tea and cakes of your choice.
Located at the alfresco seating area is the dessert kiosk which gives customers a chance to customise their McFlurrys or Sundaes with over 15 toppings, one of which is Singapore’s favourite cake – kuih lapis.
Eager to make this flagship store more than just a fast-food outlet, McDonald’s Singapore has designed this space with a range of family-friendly interactive features.
These include a shadow wall where customers walking past will have their shadows transformed into McDonaldland characters. This was rather popular with the kids though.
There are VR headsets that lend viewers a 360 virtual tour which in turn was a hit with the teens and the wireless charging stations was taken up by the students and adults.
All in all, with its air-conditioned and spacious indoor area as well as an outdoor alfresco dining option overlooking the East Coast Park, this is one unique and nice McDonald’s to enjoy a meal as well as to hang out.
The service here deserved a mention too.
The cleaners, servers and generally all members of the staff are quick to smile, happy to serve and most helpful with enquiries.
Here’s our SGD60++ meal. It was a satisfying McD’s meal and honestly I could never say the same of the McD’s back in Malaysia.

i hear there’s also a mcd’s in sg where you can build your own burger – choose your own bun, your own patty, cheeses, and pile in as many different toppings as you want! that sounds like it would be a really fun experience too 🙂
