The name – MaTiC (Malaysian Tourism Centre) says it all. The MaTiC team is dedicated and committed towards providing quality, professional and friendly service to local and foreign tourists in its endeavour to become a leading one-stop tourist centre.
Located right in the city centre; accessible via major public transportation and near iconic landmarks such as the KLCC, MaTiC does not only provide printed materials but it keeps local and foreign visitors engaged with its calendar of events. One interesting one is the 1Malaysia KL Family Fair, happening EVERY Saturday from 4pm to 11pm.
These events are FREE and everyone is welcomed.
On an annual basis, the MaTiC Fest is held for 3 days. Again entrance to the event is free, and one can expect fun activities and challenges. I went yesterday to check it out with some blogger friends and also to provide coverage for MaTiC for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2014.
When I was there by 10.30am, the paintball game was already in full swing. I was impressed; the paintball area and set up was professionally done and the teams playing weren’t newbies for sure. They greeted me with smiles and good cheer when I walked past.
I must say they made my morning. Isn’t it nice to see such spontaneity and energy so early on a weekend morning? 🙂
Moving into the main area where all the other public visitors are, a karaoke singing competition was going on, a row of food stalls ensured that no one remained hungry and little kids were kept entertained with batik painting and colouring competitions.
Both local and foreigners were seen participating in various games. Some stilt-walkers and clowns were well, clowning around and giving out balloons.
When I grow up, I want to be as tall as him! 😀
The men had a field time today. Other than shooting paintballs at each other, some worked their arms muscle in the arm-wrestling competition.
Tamiya may be another male dominated sport, but this lady’s Tamiya wasn’t too bad!
In between racing sessions, I observed the Tamiya owners tweaking, changing and checking their precious toys. Well, if you can’t afford the big cars, start small yes? 🙂
I spent over 3 hours at the MaTiC Fest and was pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed my time here. The food sold wasn’t too bad, I had some blogger friends with me, the Tamiya, paintball and arm wrestling was interesting to watch and lastly I went to my first ever cat exhibition.
I’m not overly fond of cats, but I had to admit that some of these feline creatures can be quite endearing.
This one for example, looks like The Grinch! And yes, he is wearing a Xmas hat!
Yes, how may I help you??
This fella reminded me of what weekends are made for.
Some of these cats are up for sale as well as adoption. Do swing by and get yourself one if you’ve been meaning to get a pet! 🙂
Starting last Friday, the MaTiC Fest 2013 ends today.

clowns and cats! i don’t mind friendly felines, so i would have fun looking at these cats that you captured so nicely in your pics 😀 i wouldn’t mind taking part in that arm-wrestling too, even though i’d definitely lose each round! 😀
I think I saw you yesterday walking around with your camera.
You should have joined the arm wrestling competition, I’ll like to see if the guy will let you win! LOL
I went for the cat exhibition after reading your previous post about it!
My sis and I loved the cats!
