Wish I could have joined you for this trip! Yea to Heineken! 🙂
Yay to Heineken too! Ah, next year ok? It’s an annual event!
Wei…need ur comments on whether nice or not lar 😛
Haha….I went to the same No. 25 Bukit Mata Seafood Centre @ Top Spot also during my Kuching trip….haha =)
Hahah it’s a picture post for now. Got to update quick before more work hits in and I’ll not be able to post at all!
OMG….Luckily I came here with a full stomach.LOL **anyway still sulking**
Hehehe! Food in abundance in Kuching for sure!
ooo, i think i’d like the Foo Chow Kom Pia, since it looks quite creamy and meaty. i might be able to eat half a dozen of those! 😀
Oh yes, it’s just like “ham chin Peng” actually.. with the aroma nuttiness from the sesame seeds. Texture-wise it’s chewy like baguette!
one of my favourite…….
Gosh!!! Haven’t been to MOST of the places you went to. Been to Golden Arch for the laksa – many people’s favourite but just as many will tell you it is the best in town…and I’ve been to Topspot…and Lau Eya Keng at Carpenter Street. That’s about it…
P.S. Nice red pants, JFook!!! LOL!!!
*it is NOT the best in town…
Ah yes! I went for that Green Road kolo mee too… One of the better ones around…
I find it too sweet. Maybe should have ordered the “normal” one.
But noodles wise it was good for sure!
I dont know why people like that laksa. I didn’t like it. Very much on the coconut milk but no spice taste. Yup, NOT the best as far as Im concerned
Oh I’m envious- i love the Carpenter St satay!!!
Top spot kuching is so good for its seafood!
superlike this post.. traditional food!
Heheh! Kuching has many food special to this city. I’m so bored of Melaka, Ipoh and Penang food already!
Wowww ok lapar terus tengok gambar2 ni 🙂
Yea, better than Ramadhan buffet I tell you! 😀
You guys had these all in one day? WOW! That’s quite a lot 😀
Between 1030am to 10pm!
Hahaha.. we were stuffed and I could barely sit after that!
Rebecca, u ate all that? OMG!! plus all the food reminds me of my time backpacking in sarawak!
Hahah yes ate all that!
Kuching has many great food that’s uniquely Kuching. Such a foodie heaven!

Well it looks like you hit all the famous spots. I’m sure you realize that famous doesn’t necessarily mean best, though. Like that Green Road kolo mee – everyone says it’s the best but I find it to be too oily. And everyone has a different opinion about whether Golden Arch laksa is the best. I like it but not as much as other places.
Thanks for the great post.
Oh, the post is not done, haven’t actually added my comments on the food.
But I agree, I didn’t like both the kolo mee (too oily + SWEET – euuww) and the laksa lacked oophmmm for me.
Frankly, famous almost means NOT the best. Same for Penang food (I’m a Penangite)
May I know how to go to the residence area in stunting baru there???? I’m craving for the tomato wantan there :(….

Being a Kuchingite / Kuchingian… hahahaha… wanted to say the places you went to are the typical places people would go. I’m not saying they’re overrated but there are many more hidden gems in Kuching. There’s the legendary Kueh Chap at 7th Mile nite market stall 99 with Garfield picture. There’s the marvelous tomato fried noodles also at 7th Mile next to winsome bookstore. There’s the beautiful kolo mee served at an isolated house / eatery along Jalan Stephen Yong which goes by the name KFC (Kim Foo Cafe). Try the laksa at a shop adjacent to NIIT college somewhere along Jalan Ahmad Zaidi Adruce. Pork noodle soup at Noodle Descendant. Fried chicken somewhere opposite the pork satay outlet. I’m drooling…. I need to go back to Kuching.
