It’s an all-you-can-eat bonanza every weekend at Kogetsu Weekend Brunch at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Priced at RM145/pax, with kids below 12 years eating for free (limited to two per single receipt) this is a feast for discerning diners; for there are no fluff or addition of local cuisine to make up for quantity.
This is a Japanese buffet where traditional Japanese preparations and premium ingredients takes precedence.
What to expect: The Menu:
Instead of a buffet-style spread, this deal allows diners to order as many items as they wish from an ala-carte menu comprising of fresh sashimi, sushi, grilled meats (teppanyaki style), deep fried and simmered quality seafood to rice dishes, soups, noodles and desserts.
It’s a delicious gut-busting feast, all set to make your weekend a truly decadent one.
I for one, can’t think of a better weekend brunch.
Ala-carte buffets deserves plus points from the common buffet style of serving food in chaffing dishes. RM145 is a premium price; thus I expect premium quality and likewise, service.
Here at Kogetsu, both criteria were met.
Most dishes are freshly prepared upon orders from diners and retain their integrity of taste, flavour and presentation.
The fresh sashimi is priority for us, followed by the cooked seafood and teppan meats.
We recommend loading up on beef tenderloin, chicken, salmon, scallops and prawns for good quality protein and then the Yakimono; where grilled options such as salmon head, unagi, meat and seafood teriyaki abounds.
Now, if only these scallops were bigger….
Fan of heads will be pleased; for these were grilled competently and warrant multiple servings.
Personally I’m all for chunks of meat, like the large sized, vermilion cuts of omega-rich salmon.
One more serving please.
And just another before we leave.
You wouldn’t want to know the number of unagi servings we had.
Lovers of crispy, light tempuras can load up on the 8 fried options available. Our pick were the prawns and soft shell crabs.
ca
Rice and noodles were not forgotten.
We recommend the Chasoba.
Finish on a sweet note with matcha-rich desserts like the green tea ice cream, panna cotta and molten cake. Refreshing on the palate are the seasonal local fruit platter and the lemongrass creme brulee.
