 Sexy dresses, bling-bling accessories, mile-high stilettos and catchy bags.
Kenanga Wholesale City – Malaysia’s First & Only Fashion Wholesale Shopping Mall is now open!

Located off Jalan Hang Tuah near the Imbi monorail station, KWC follows the resounding success of fashion wholesale malls in the Asian region such as Platinum Fashion Mall in Bangkok, Dongdaemun Market in Seoul, Mangga Dua Wholesale Complex in Jakarta and many fashion wholesale malls in Humen, China.

With 500,000 square feet nett lettable retail space, this 22 storeyed one-stop fashion wholesale shopping mall boasts nine storeys of shopping adventure.

IMG_6718

There’s 800 retail shops offering anything within the fashion umbrella for women, men and children.

Women-wear takes up the most shoplots of course, and that includes apparel, footwear, jewellery, accessories, bags as well as leather goods.

IMG_6722

IMG_6725

No fret though, it’s not all just flirty dresses. There are sharp office attire available for the more conservatively dressed as well.

IMG_6724

IMG_6729

IMG_6721

But I love love the party, flirty dresses! The yellow layered one below is such a doll isn’t it??

IMG_6731

How about this one on the left? Simply, flowing chiffon. Softly elegant and feminine.

IMG_6738

I love white dresses. The one on the right is simple, tight and sexy.

 IMG_6730

Amazingly, there are several retailers specially dedicated to Islamic fashion in a bid to provide a variety of traditional and contemporary apparel for the Muslim market!

IMG_6748

So really there’s something for everyone here.

Simple printed tees…….

IMG_6733

……….ugly dresses.. variety of dresses..

IMG_6735

…..and even kids wear.

IMG_6745

IMG_6746

Whilst dedicated to wholesale businesses only, Kenanga Wholesale City functions as a shopping mall with full amenities catering to business convenience with F&B outlets, event spaces, banking and a host of other business services.

Frankly, no malls or buildings should be without FOOD outlets! 🙂

IMG_6747

Halal outlets include Old Town White Coffee, Sajian Enak, MJ Café, Kazu Sushi Japanese Restaurant and many snack kiosks.

On the 7th floor, the non-halal Kenanga Food Court offers the best of KL food including Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee, Petaling Street Famous Porridge, Cheras Flat Woo Pin Fish Head Noodles, Duck King, Imbi San Jian Zhuang Pork Noodle, Siang Kee Char Kuey Teow and etc.

IMG_6749

During the media launch we had an unexpected surprise as we got to play “dress-up your mannequin“. Themes allocated were Casual Wear, Party Glamour, Office Basics and so on.

IMG_6713

Split into teams of 4, we thronged the mall on borrowed credit of RM250 and a time limit of 40 minutes.

IMG_6753

Yes, it was like those reality TV shows with us running and tripping over our heels as we burst in and out of shops searching for our ideal items for our mannequin. There were a lot of complains around, specially from me cos I was hungry (as usual) and I was in 5 inch heels – hey, don’t blame me, I wasn’t informed there was going to be a game like this!. But amidst the chaos there were a lot of fun and merriment as well. A reminisce of our Barbie Dolls playing days perhaps? 🙂

Our mannequin – on the the theme of “Footloose” (casual wear).

IMG_6762

The winning team – on the theme of Party-wear. I love the soft, transparent white embroidered shift!

IMG_6771

Though newly opened, occupancy rate were high & most shops were already operational.  Stock is not a problem either as I found out while window shopping. Hopefully Kenanga Wholesale Mall will be bustling with commercial activities soon and carry amazing stock like Platinum Mall in Bangkok.  I won’t have to stock up on my wardrobe in Thailand anymore then! 🙂

So here’s the map! Take the monorail if you are concerned about traffic, but if you did drive, there’s 1,800 parking bays available. Parking is currently still FOC.

interesting building design for a shopping mall, especially in the pudu area. looks almost futuristic! 😀

    1. rebeccasaw

I know right! It does look out of place in that area actually…

  2. ulric

    Hey…not bad…I m more interested in d non-halal food court 😛

  3. minchow

Ooh, this is interesting indeed! What’s the occupancy rate at launch? If it could be half of what Platinum is, that’d be way plenty!

    1. Rebecca

      Oh yes, almost half!
Same here..I hope it can beat Platinum

  4. Nikel

    wow.. nice place! :good:

  5. Akulah Pak Lan

The place seems perfect to me since I dont like crowded place. But located at jalan hang tuah..hurm..

    1. rebeccasaw

Errm… are you into fashion? It’s not really a hang out place. U got to check out the clothes! 😀

      1. Akulah Pak Lan

I am more into foods. But kinda like to hang out at less crowded place like The Curve.

      2. rebeccasaw

Agreed. The Curve is pretty nice

  6. Biopolymath

The artist’s impression looks more like a research institute to me. LOL!

    1. rebeccasaw

Haha..but whatdaya know..it does look like that really!

  7. tristupe

    You looked fantastic.

The place reminds me of Platinum, Bangkok. Might be a worthy palce to check out soon.

    Any cufflinks there?

    1. rebeccasaw

Men’s fashion got. But I doubt you would want to buy cufflinks here..cufflinks should be bought at established brands outlets right? Cos it’s understated elegance.

  8. Jacqueline

Hi, is it only for wholesale transactions or is it like Platinum in Thailand eg. can buy 1 piece at higher price and if buy 3, got discount?

    1. rebeccasaw

Yes, almost same. Do look out for the GREEN sticker on the shop front. It will show if the shop sells via retail and wholesale or just wholesale.
      Happy shopping!

  9. Juliet

sounds good to me. am from Manila and my husband works in Melaka. so I can go there on April. I hope it is cheap price like platinum. I used to buy in platinum 4x/year a wholesale for my fashion shop here in Philippines. if I can buy here like in Platinum price, much better. I need not to go Bangkok. while on vacation in Malaysia I can buy my stocks. is it open already?
thanks for posting it helps a lot. oh yeah my husband send me the link 🙂

    1. Rebecca

I think for now Platinum still offer better value. But who knows, in April it might be bustling like Platinum already! Give me a holla when your trip is confirmed! 🙂

  10. Jacqueline

    Thanks, dear…

    1. rebeccasaw

      Hi Sunny
Hmmm.. I think the stock here is different from BKK. And yes, there are a lot of stock here as well.

  12. sunnysideup

are the wholesale prices as competitive as BKK.
i.e. can i get good womens tops , dresses at about RM8 to RM15

    1. Rebecca

Yes, KWC do have great bargain for dresses starting from RM10 onwards. T-shirts would start from RM5. I wont know your taste so its subjective on whether it’s “good” 🙂

    1. rebeccasaw

OMG! I just googled Yiwu and read this link http://www.in-yiwu.com/yiwu-video.html
Whoa..that’s huge. Kenanga Wholesale City is nowhere near Huangyan market in sheer volume, variety or business transactions!
What were you in Yiwu for? Business?
Sounds like a shopping heaven only for wholesale huh?

  32. Thanks , I’ve just been searching for info approximately this topic for ages and yours is the greatest I have discovered till now. H
