While most of us may be aware that there is a Harrods shop in KLCC, located strategically by the busy and most accessed escalator in Suria KLCC, how many of us know that there is one Harrods Cafe on the Ground Floor, near the entrance to KLCC from the Isetan side?
What, you mean you do? Well, I didn’t! O_O
I had always thought the popular Harrods Shop includes the Harrods Cafe and the retail shop. I have read that they serve great Sunday Roast and some British food and that was at the Harrods shop so when I was invited for a British soiree at the Harrods Cafe, I had walked into the Harrods shop and wondered why there isn’t anyone around.
Long story short I was directed over to the one on the ground floor and on the same row as Agent Provocateur and Thyme & Melur (another restaurant that I have read raving reviews of).
Once I walked in, a British waiter came by with a tray of drinks (champagne, cocktails, fruit juices). I admired the staff costumes and helped myself to a Harrods champagne. Oh you didn’t know that Harrods actually have their own brand of bubbly?
Well now you do! 🙂
A drink in hand, I checked out the buffet spread for the function.
Hot food like meatloaves, mini burgers, ribs and fish fingers lined the buffet table while friendly wait staff diligently did their rounds ensuring no one in the cafe has their hands or mouth empty.
I actually enjoyed the canapes more than the hot food!
Since its my first visit, I checked out the display counter and the menu. Sandwiches are thick and hearty, costing RM20 and above each. Fresh ingredients are laid out which allows diners to customise their own sandwiches.
At the pastry and cake section pretty cupcakes, macarons, tarts, pies, puddings, mousse and sliced cakes tempts wickedly. Oh, I must come back soon for tea! 🙂
Check out the menu below. Anyone here game for cakes? These would pair nicely with Harrods Specialty teas and coffee.
Breakfast is served from 8.00 – 11.00 am. I certainly won’t mind some pancakes with the famous Harrods range of fruit preserves.
And here’s the menu for creating your own sandwiches. My choice would be caraway rye with salt beef, chicken meatloaf (I sampled some from the buffet and it was good!) with sundried tomatoes (my favourite) and drizzled with papaya vinaigrette with a light spread of curry mayo.
What do you think? Will that work? 🙂
If you like anything you tried, look out for it in the Harrods retail store or ask the staff if they have it on sale.
Just before I bid the English farewell, I took picture with the Harrods bear! 🙂
The cafe itself isn’t large but the high ceilings and well spaced out tables does give one a sense of roominess. Ambiance bordered on comfortably austere and casual.

i want some harrods champagne! it might pair well with their salmon croissant 😀
Ohh you like their salmon croissant? It’s good?
I find the champagne light and fruity, generally pleasant 😀
Wow…certainly a chic place to be in KLCC! =)
Nice sandwich combo…mine would be white batard with roast beef, pink prawns and dijon mustard with a serving of salad dressed with papaya vinaigrette =)
Underwhelming food at overwhelming prices! Stay away Becky!
