A fan of affordable, comfortable and clean accomodation for my travels, such as the time I was in Sg, I fully support Tune Hotels’ tagline of “5-star sleeping experience for 1-star price! Affordable, Clean & Safe” and their concept hotels.
I’m not one to turn my nose up at luxury accomodation, but let’s just say the rich and well-heeled are the minority and having pocket-friendly options such as Tune Hotels and Air Asia does wonders for the majority.
Tune Hotel, Kota Damansara opened at end of May 2010 and the day I was there, for the FourSquare meet-up, the hotel was fully booked!
Mine you, it was on a Wednesday too!
Occupying two floors of Sunsuria Avenue in Kota Damansara, all 121 rooms are equipped with 32” LCD television sets, 5-star beds and hot power showers.
Tune Hotel has 7 branches in Malaysia : Kuala Lumpur (besides maju Junction), Kota Damansara, KLIA – LCCT, Penang, Danga bay Johor, 1Borneo Sabah, Waterfront Kuching, Sarawak.
Overseas – wise, there is one in London (to be launched in Aug 2010) and Indonesia. Can you imagine? Affordable accomadation in London! Whee! :yahoo:
While Kota Damansara might seem to be a weird location for some, it does makes sense when you consider the following:
1. Strategically located to surrounding areas like Damansara Perdana, Mutiara Damansara, Damansara Utama, Bandar Utama and even up to Sungai Buloh, Kepong and Subang.
2. Serves as a satellite to our prime hotels in Downtown KL and KLIA-LCCT Airport that are consistently enjoying high occupancy.
3. Easy access by bus and taxi, and surrounded by business, shopping (Sunway Giza, Giant, Tesco), entertainment and education establishments (SEGi University College, Sri KDU).
4. Within near vicinity of Subang Skypark (Terminal 3).
Enough of the hotel, I have yet to actually stay in one, and hopefully there will be a trip soon to the Johor or Pg one. *cross fingers*
So yes, I managed to check out the hotel cos a bunch of us (bloggers) were gathered there last week in the attempt to get a Swarm Badge. So the cute image below kinda sums it up.
All bloggers and four-squarers gathered. 50 of us checking into FourSQuare online gets us each a Swarm Badge!
Tune Hotel provided us free dinner buffet as well @ Bangkok Wasabe which was right opposite the Hotel 😉 The food was actually not bad for Thai cuisine! I won’t go into details on the food here as I will make another trip there before I post a proper write-up.
Thanks again to Tune Hotel for the goody bag and the voucher for FREE 3 days 2 night stay in Legian, Bali. Time to start planning my Bali trip! 😉

whoa, those rooms look a lot more impressive than i had expected! reasonably spacious too…
i was browsing tune hotel’s website late last week to check out their london branch … it seems like the rooms for mid-september are fully booked already!
Yup, mostly fully booked!
I guess tis might be an issue in the long run, having no rooms most of the time! Hope Tune Hotels takes note of this.

Heard my sister stayed there 1 nite. Comment was reserved, didn’t want to share much.
Anyway, good for Ikea shoppers, cuz, it’s near to Ikea, The Curve & 1U.
Oh? Do share *wink* .
But tht must be their opening week right?

where is my voucher????? i also want!!!
Yes yes! Will give out to all once they have finished their blog posts!
Hi becky , I really appreciate the good points you made. I think too that Tune can go a long way with this budget concept. It’s a matter of where they can penetrate to. Countries like Japan (where the price per sq feet is ridiculous) is sure to be a hit!
