I was at Mid Valley yesterday for the KL Photography Festival, followed by lunch at Brotzeit & then the DIOR make over.

Dior make over

Dior’s booth was just right in front of Che Che New York Malaysia boutique. Remembering the message posted on Che Che’s Facebook wall a few weeks ago, I dropped in to check out the chocolates & couldn’t resist picking up 3 bars.

There are samples to help you make up your mind, something I appreciate cos it was so difficult to choose only 3! 😉

My favourite is the Plum and Salt. Well, the only reason why I chose this flavour was because of the word ‘salt‘. Hehe..I’m a sucker for exotic flavours. Salt in chocolate? Definitely must try weiii!

It turned out to be a good choice; bitter, rich & slightly saltish, this bar has a gritty texture of which I’m assuming is the sea salt (?). There wasn’t much of a fruity taste though, considering that it is plum flavoured but I still loved it!

Another one I chose is the Seaweed Chocolate which has got sheets of seaweed wedged in between the layers of chocolate.
The best part is, the seaweed remained crisp and fresh though it is encased in the chocolate. The chocolate base tasted the same as the Plum & Salt; rich and bitter but the seaweed added an interesting “green” taste to the whole experience of eating chocolates! Hey, dark chocolate is good for you, so dark chocolate with seaweed is almost health food right?! LOL.

I was trying to decide between Bacon or Jerky & ended up with the jerky one as I couldn’t resist the fact that it is PORK jerky (no joke!).

It tasted alike pork floss embedded within the dark chocolate. Interesting flavour, but too subtle.

There are many more flavours! Kumquat, Goji Berry, Candied Ginger are some of the more uncommon flavours. Not feeling adventurous? Try the black sesame, hazelnut, macadamia, crunchy/crispy and espresso! There is something for everyone and these chocolates makes great gifts too!

So do grab a few bars before they are all sold out!
