Best cakes in KL @ Swich Cafe Publika – Durian Cendol Cheesecake & many more!

There’s a reason why my weekly cake quota (which is about 2 slices) goes to Swich Cafe.
Their cakes consistent hits all the right notes for me; never too dry or greasy, quality ingredients (I can tell ok!) and always fresh because they have very stringent quality control.

I would relax and enjoy my cakes at the outlet (more like a little cafe) since the location is tucked away from the busy main boulevard or I’ll grab my selection and eat at home.
Nothing like some good desserts to get the writing mode on! 😀

I have accumulated many pictures of the cakes I’ve had here and I’ll be updating more and more pictures over the weeks. In fact I visit Swich Cafe almost every week for their specials. 🙂

Here’s a tip; always check out their FB page (https://www.facebook.com/Swichfinefood) for their “weekly specials”.
The usual suspects are the Cempedak Cake, Jackfruit Cake, Avocado Cake and perhaps 6-7 more types. The prices ranges from RM11.90 to RM15.90 per slice.
I have tried all that so now I kept my tastebuds intrigued with the Swich’s specials.
You can expect 1-2 specials weekly that is seasonal or a creation that the owner/founder Cheng Cheng had had a sudden inspiration of.

Some of the amazing desserts include the Inako cake (Roasted Soy Bean Flour) layered with Kinako Cream and Homemade Black Sesame Caramel, Jackfruit Upside Cake, Cherry Orange Cheesecake with warm Madagascar chocolate sauce and even one with chestnut paste.
I can go on and on, but seriously you just have to make that effort to go Swich Cafe to try it for yourself! 🙂

This week’s special is a durian cheesecake with chendol jellies served with gula melaka. The combination sounded so appealing that I couldn’t help rushing over for a slice!

Coconut Durian Cheesecake with Chendol, served drizzled with Gula Melaka.

And as expected it tasted as good as it looks. Even better than it looked actually.
It wasn’t too dense but rich enough. If you are a durian fan like me, you will enjoy the full flavour of durians in this slice. The chendol bits added texture and the drizzle of gula melaka paired nicely with the coconut infused cheese.

I can never walk away with ONE cake. My second option was this “The Aphrodite” which is supposedly good for fertility.
This was a base of gula melaka sponge embedded with figs and served topped with pomegranates, strawberries and blueberries.

Here are some of the previous cakes which I wished Swich would stock again. Like I said, I’m slowly digging through all my pictures so I’ll post up more over time. 🙂
