There are many ways to have a fun evening out with friends.
To usher in 2014, and to celebrate my achievements and win in the many races, competitions and my ultimate triumph in the reality show The Influencer by Nokia & Low Yat (yes, I got into the finals!), I gathered my 3 closest girlfriends for a ladies’ night out.
The itinerary is simple, we will head to ONE venue, and that one venue will keep us occupied the whole night with different experiences. I told them to dress up and be ready for a night of play and indulgence and leave all the planning to me.
On my end, there was basically no planning at all. I made a reservation for dinner and spent more time worrying about what to wear and whether I would look good in my dress. 😀
The venue selected was none other than The Roof @First Avenue Bandar Utama and having been there before, I know an evening there would be just ideal for what I have in mind.
The reason is simple. I want a night of different experiences to keep us going, with no breaks in momentum. Partying momentum I mean. LOL! 😀
At The Roof, it is easy to play all night.
Start the evening at The Score; chill over beers, play a game of darts, pool or foosball to warm up for the evening.
A perfect retreat after work, Score offers attractive beer deals and delectable finger food for thirsty patrons. A beer tower goes for RM80 all night long!
Stay tuned to their FB (https://www.facebook.com/Score.TheRoof) for their ongoing promos which includes putting your favourite football jersey and have FREE FLOW until the 1st goal of the match of the night. 🙂
I really have to thank Joanna for this picture below! I love how my back looks. Seems that all the hard work in the gym is paying off! 😀
* I run and go to the gym (Celebrity Fitness) every alternate day. Check out my Personal Training sessions diary –> HERE).
The Score gets crowded every evening with football and beer drinking enthusiasts. Regular pool competitions, dart tournaments and beer drinking contests are held here to spice things up.
Signature by The Hill is a stylish and trendy premium gastro-lounge. Come here for the signature cocktails, the view and some good food.
It’s ideal for romantic dates (grab a table near the circular window), small parties and social gatherings. Feast on contemporary Asian and Western dishes creatively crafted by the chef.
And of course, don’t forget the cocktails!
I would highly recommend the Black Angus Tenderloin (RM88++) which is served with pumpkin mash, garlic chocolate (garlic flakes drizzled with white & dark chocolate), arugula & sauteed seasonal vegetables.
For pasta we loved the Scallop Black Aglio. Alternatively I was told that the Black Cod Fish and Lamb Shank are good bets too.
To begin, you can’t go wrong with the escargot as starters.
For desserts, sweeten the night with the Trio of Creme Brule and the Chocolate Lava Cake.
After a beer tower, we loosen up with Signature’s signature (pun intended) cocktails.
We enjoyed the Apple Martini (RM28++), Covent Garden (RM32++); blend of Hendriks Gin, fresh cucumber & apple smashed into a refreshing drink. The Xmas in June (RM31++) was an acquired taste with Belvedere, Frangelico, organic blueberry jam (I kid you not!) and a squeeze of citrus.
We also added a glass of red (Pinot Noir Cloudy Bay) for RM44++. Perfect for the steak!
Tummy satiated, we sauntered over to Stratosphere next. It was the night of the launch of Visit Malaysia 2014 and we enjoyed the fireworks that went on for a good 30 minutes.
IF you don’t already know (where have you been??), Stratosphere is Asia’s 1st Lawn Rooftop Champagne Bar. This spacious lawn has a DJ console and a bar in the middle and seating arrangements are either at the bar or individual low tables at the outer circular area of the space.
We started at the bar with orange juice and followed that with a bottle of champagne to celebrate a new beginning for us; both in personal endeavours and careers.
I was a very happy girl that night. I have indeed came a long long way to be what I am today. And the future glows promisingly bright.
Here’s to a spectacular 2014! 😀
Whisky and cigars followed next at Malt and Leaf.
Like a boss! 😀
Jo and Vivian got into the swing of things too! In case you’re wondering, yes there are 4 ladies but the other girlfriend Joanna was the photographer for the night and refused to be in any pictures so that’s why you’re not seeing her here. 🙂
Malt & Leaf is the bar & lounge to be at for the finest in cigars, dining & international malts in addition to a full range of other liquors.
This particular private section of Malt & Leaf is very much like a gentleman club with it’s décor of features warm colors, panelled walls and leather chairs.
There are several things in my mind that make a room masculine: wood panelling, books, a fireplace and big leather chairs. Additionally, a masculine space has an air of privacy and simplicity.
I couldn’t resist this shot with the button-backed Victorian leather club chair, the epitome of gentlemen’s clubs in nineteenth century England. These timeless and classic leather chairs shout heritage.
A bottle of Nikka complemented the cigar perfectly.
At 12am, we hit the club at The Roof – Play for some serious booty shaking.
I love to dance. Do you? 😀
Play is a designer super club which can accommodate up to 700 people. The highlight of the outlet is the regular appearance of top-notch local and international DJs as well as live acts.
I’m more of a Hip Hop/R & B kind of girl so if any of you would like to hit the dance floor on Wednesdays, do gimme a holla!
“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”

Thanks to my dearest girlfriends Jo, Vivian and Joanna for spending a lovely evening at The Roof, First Avenue with me. It was a night to remember!
We enjoyed our dinner, had a great time at each of the outlet and most importantly we partied safe. We didn’t have to drive from one venue to another as we just had to walk to our chosen venues that evening. All 5 outlets of The Roof are on one floor (with exception for Stratosphere).
