Many many thanks to boolicious of the blog masak-masak.blogspot.com for alerting me about this!
I’m a fan of them on Facebook – but somehow this didn’t appear on my feed. Damn those FB pages changes.
Anyhow I managed to drop in today quickly thanks to Chef Guillaume Lejeune’s invite which I met during my pastry making session in Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia. For today Janice Wong of 2am: dessertbar in Singapore spun her magic.
I have met her before during the World Gourmet Summit 2012 and I had thought she’s really sweet. Today as I watched her work her sugars and chocolate, I was inspired all over again to start baking soon!

Janice showed a few desserts today, one of which is the passionfruit blanket – a stretchy, melt- in- the- mouth and zesty membrane! Very creative.
We got to sample another flavour too.
At the same time Chef Guillaume also introduced me to Chef Ewald Notter, World Pastry Champion. I was amazed by his sugar art pieces!
Chef Ewald will be in Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia from 5-7th Nov and 8th – 10th Nov.
Anyone here crazy for sugar art? Please do join his class. Contact for the Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia is at the bottom of this post.
Seriously, it’s not everyday that a World Pastry Champion is here in KL to give you hands-on guidance!
Next I got to say hi to Chef Stephane Treand; another World Pastry Champion & MOF. Similarly, Chef Stephane will be in Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia from 5-7th Nov and 8th – 10th Nov. Chocolate lovers should definitely participate in his 3 days hands-on workshop on the dates stated above and the module will be covering Robot Coupe technique, chocolate airbrush, carving and casting of chocolates.

Asia Pastry Forum 2012 is a 9 day pastry and bakery art workshop designed for pastry professionals and students to experience training with some of the best pastry chefs of the world. This is a great platform to learn with World Pastry Champions, M.O.F chefs, chocolates masters, master bakers, specialised psatry chefs and book authors and cake designers.
For me, I have missed the greatest opportunity to meet Franck Heuze – Master French Baker for breads. Oh my god. I totally feel the pain. BREADS are the love of my life. Sigh.
Anyhow, for the rest of you, you do still have the opportunity to meet some of these great masters at the Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia from now till 14th Nov. The schedule is as below:
9th November – Wedding Cake with Peachy Juban
11 – 13th November – Pralines & Candy with Jean Marie Auboine – MOF Finalist and Chocolate Master Chef
Many thanks again to Chef Guillaume for having me over today! 🙂

Other than the Asia Pastry Forum 2012 happening this week, Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia conducts diploma courses and classes in pastry, bread baking, cakes decoration, sugar art and chocolate art.
To all aspiring bakers; do check their syllables out! 🙂
I had wanted to go today but it was fully booked, but yesterday’s bread session was quite useful though, you would have lived it! It was bread heaven!
I know I would! Ah well, next round hopefully!
You actually stated it adequately..
Kudos, I value this.
