While I’m not sure about the rest of you, my weekends are generally scheduled for food hunts, may it be in KL or further. 😀
Today I finally had time to drop in at A Minor Place, an outlet that serves swine-ful delights that includes a mean pork nasi lemak and pork burger. It’s my mission to eat every pork burger in town so yes, I had my radar aimed here for a while!
I was so hungry and lazy that I only took pictures of my pork burger before tucking in! :DD My dining partners ordered the Aglio Olio and a Pork Chop each. More on those 2 dishes later but it was really the Pork Burger that’s worth the visit.
I daresay this is one of the rare pork patties that has attained an almost perfect texture. It has good structure; firm yet not overly dense. It retained its juiciness within (do note that could be due to the fact that I specifically requested for medium rare), and was perfectly pink with a nice, crisp outer shell. The flavour was balanced and most of its taste came from the meat, rather than any strong seasonings.
Slap on a runny egg and I was biting into an ambrosial ensemble of a most satisfying burger! All for RM18.50 + 10% (additional charges applies for the egg) 😀

Here’s the Aglio Olio (switch from chicken to pork bacon) – RM16.50. One of the worst pasta I had this year. Bland and not even al-dente. I was actually quite cheesed off. 🙁
Pork Chop – RM24.50.
Not as tender as I would like, but that could be to the fact that we forgot to request for medium rare. The meat slabs could do with a little more marination though. The portion is huge for the price so there were no complaints from the owner of the dish 😛
There’s sauerkraut, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce and tomatoes under all that meat and I must concur with KC that the apple sauce was quite nice.
They serve Bristot coffee here. Here’s a cuppa for RM8.00.
KC ordered a Mandarin Lychee (RM13.00) but got what was like a limau panas for RM13+!!! There were no ice (as requested by KC because he has flu) but neither were there lychees. Would YOU pay RM13+ for this?
Overall verdict?
The mains were quite decent but personally I would only recommend the pork burger. Do ask for medium rare if you like your meat pink like me. Add an egg too for extra creaminess! 🙂

the runny egg yolk always caught my attention…but would really want to try on the pork burger..

D 2 big pork chops are also nice lar…it’s just I din request for medium doneness…love their apple/plum sauce…hehe =)
Wish the meat was slightly more seasoned too. bit bland on its own but yes, if it was med rare even better! not as dry
