The 51 Restaurant is actually under the Pampas Group of restaurants. The Pampas restaurants (PAMPAS Grill & Bar on Changkat, Pampas Reserve at Bukit Ceylon’s Suasana Residences, Pampas Burger Dataran Jelatek, Setiawangsa and 51 Restaurant) are known for their steaks.
Funnily enough though I’m a huge steak eater I haven’t stepped into any of Pampas restaurants till recently.
I guess I must have given up finding good steaks in KL without having to pay and arm and a leg.
My default steak places has been either Beato or The Restaurant at Saujana (Chef Alexander Waschl is a superb chef and I like most of his creations).
Now, I added 51 Restaurant to my list because I just had a really good rib eye for RM45++! 🙂
Example: 250g Grass Fed Rib Eye, medium rare – RM45++ .
It was done exactly as I requested; medium rare. The meat was flavourful (Chef said he did have a secret marinate) and it was seasoned simply with salt and pepper.
Another good deal is their ‘AWESOME’ Happy Hour (only RM5) Mojito, supposedly the best in town.
The menu here is pretty extensive, but I’ll save that for a full post at a later date so stay tuned! 🙂
