WTA Singapore 2015: Public Draw Ceremony presented by Marina Bay Sands

I was in SINGAPORE (yes, again) and this time I was in the thick of things for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

One of the highlights of the trip (other than burgers and shopping) was being in the same square space as world class WOMEN tennis players at the Public Draw Ceremonies presented by Marina Bay Sands.

As you might know, I’m a fitness enthusiast myself. Consequently I look up to the icon of self-assured, successful and powerful women, whether it is in the business, entertainment or sports field.

During the public draw ceremony, the sheer magnetism of their influence could be felt.

The players were a gorgeous lot; leggy, fit, mostly lean (but some did look a bit heavy) and dynamic. They strode barely 5 metres away past me on their way up to the stage and I only wished I had better lens with me to capture their movements.
Most of them, surprisingly enough, were dressed glamourously.

Ok, this is my first attendance of such ceremonies so I’ve half expected them to turn up in jeans or tennis attire. LOL!

It’s game on after the draw as the prestigious singles and doubles tournament begins the day after the draw.

This is the 2nd year and all of the players were in all in battle for the Billie Jean King Trophy.
As expected 2015 boasts of an exciting line-up that’s bigger and better than before.

WTA is the highlight of the women’s tennis circuit and the 2015 competition had expanded from seven to eight days (23 October – 1 November 2015) with a new round robin format for the doubles matches.
We can only expect it to get bigger and stronger year and the good news is Singapore will be hosting the WTA Finals until 2018!
Essentially that means annual opportunities to admire winning aces, graceful lobs and powerful backhands.

The official draw ceremony for both the singles and doubles event is open to public so you can start planning your trip for 2016.

You should even start saving up for your front row seat ticket, for I can assure you that it is worth the investment.
I was 4-5 rows from the front during the 1st match between Maria Sharapova and Agnieszka Radwansk and it was electrifying.
