WD® Western Digital – WD My Cloud & WD My Cloud EX

If you don’t already know, I’m a “power” WD devices user.
The amount of junk/data I accumulate in my blogging life and work could only increase daily, and the need for secure storage took precedence last year. Just as timely WD stepped in to offer some storage solutions for me and it was then that I was introduced to WD’s cloud storage solutions.

Now if you have been like me, and all cloud storage means to you is “Dropbox” and some file sharing sites such as wetransfer, then you should really look into these WD cloud solutions.

This device is less than 1 kg, and price starts from RM499 for 2TB, RM649 for 3TB & RM799 for 4TB.
For those who are unfamiliar, this device needs to be connected to a power outlet & the WIFI during use. It is the perfect solution for users that requires an easy & private method to store all of their data at home & then share, save & manage it from wherever they are in the world, on any device (PC, Mac, Tablets, smartphones) via mobile apps & WD cloud software.

Customers can get their personal cloud up and running in minutes with WD’s rich web-based user interface for seamless web-guided setup so it’s pretty DIY-friendly. The WD’s software also auto-detects the drive to make setup simple for novice users.

With a Gigabit Ethernet connection and Dual-Core processor, files transferring is blazing fast, allowing users to quickly centralize all of the digital content scattered across various devices onto WD My Cloud.
You can also directly upload files from mobile devices as well and that would essentially free up valuable space in your tablets and smartphones.
Additionally, the WD My Cloud mobile app integrates major public cloud services so that customers can easily transfer files between their Dropbox™, SkyDrive® and Google Drive™ public cloud accounts

For small office and home users, the above should more than suffice. But if you’re looking into the prosumers and workgroups levels, then the new 2-Bay Prosumer Cloud Storage is your ideal solution.

what do you recommend between the WD My Cloud EX2 and the WD My Cloud Mirror, in the same sizes and raid configuration? I have 2 companies in separate physical locations and want to have access to the back up files in the event of loss and also want to stream content from either location. Thanks
