Venezuelan Sounds and Flavours @ La Boca Latino Bar, Pavilion

The Sounds & Flavours of Venezuela is a cultural and gastronomic event organised by the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in KL as the preamble to the 9th Venezuelan Week 2014.

From April 22- 27th, La Boca will offer a range of typical Venezuela food such as the Pabellon Criollo, a traditional Venezuelan dish of shredded beef, rice & black beans; and the Asado Caraqueno, a delicious staple food of Venezuelan cuisine made with beef coated with a sweet dark sauce.

This special menu is available at La Boca for a limited time only and each food presented is a great Venezuelan classic, cooked and served adopting from age-old recipes and formulas that give each dish its distinctive flavour and quality.

Pelao Guayanes – Moist chicken rice prepared with gula melaka, olives and capers was bought in by Trinidadian and Indian Immigrants.

Fosforera – a famous and tasty seafood, vegetables and a special sweet chilli (Aji Dulce Margariteno) soup.

Blacken Roast Beef – the juicy and tender beef is served coated with a sweet dark sauce and accompanied by a sweet golden corn pudding.

Beef Meatballs.

Potato coated cheese balls.

Nachos with a trio of dips.

In addition to the food, the Sounds & Flavours will also feature Venezuelan dance and music all week long with live music on Friday 25th and “Salsa Brava Night” on Sunday 27th for the dance enthusiasts to dance to the Latin rhythm and beats.

    I read on your blog for Peruvian food but Venezuelan – never tried!
    Other than this limited menu, are there restaurants in KL that offers authentic Peruvian cuisine?

    We don’t have South American restaurants here in Jakarta. I don’t think I know of any.
    In KL there are so many restaurant of so many cuisines!
