The Protrim Plus Get Started Bar REVIEW: HIGH FIBRE APRICOT, OATS & QUINOA BAR

In continuation of my snack bar/protein bar eating spree, I’m glad I’ve found another to call a favourite.

After the recent experience with ProTrim bars (specifically the High Fibre Chia Apple Cinnamon Bar one) I rummaged through my energy bar stash for another ProTrim to try ASAP.

ProTrim Plus - REVIEW - HIGH FIBRE APRICOT, OATS & QUINOA BAR

The reason is simple.

If all ProTrim bars taste as bad as the High Fibre Chia, I’ll like to find out quickly and dispose of them ASAP (they are expensive stuff so disposing them means adding them into my overnight oats prep & loading up on the fruits!), else the others in my stash might actually turn out to be nice and I would have a change of heart about ProTrim bars.

I was relieved to discover that it was the latter; for the the Protrim Plus HIGH FIBRE APRICOT, OATS & QUINOA BAR is delicious!

Thank god!
I must admit the apricot coating on top was too sweet, but the overall soft yet slightly crispy texture works for me.
I find that most of the snack bars tend to be chewy and soft, but the soy crisps (see the nutrition & ingredients table below) in this bar gave it a bit of crunch and I liked that!
As I work my way through the bar I found chunks of apricots. Yums!

Here’s the nutrition information and ingredients.
Admittedly it is high in sugars (3.1g + mailititol 6.2g +  polydextrose 4.2g) but it packs 10g of protein (thanks to the whey) for a 40g bar.
I’ll take this over MARS or Snickers anytime! 🙂

heheh, i love my Mars bars (they’re my guilty pleasure), but the thought of apricots and quinoa mixed in a bar sound delicious too! 😀

Hahah I do love Snickers too. But I’ve given up on all that lately!
