Yup, as I have announced it HERE, it was an all star VIP treatment courtesy of Chevrolet Malaysia!

We rolled out in style in the new Chevrolet Captiva from the pick-up point at Naza AutoWorld PJ to Mid Valley Megamall – the destination of Chevrolet Malaysia‘s Transformers 3 premier screening on the evening of June 28, 2011.

Bloggers being bloggers, we had to stop to snap a shot right after coming down from our rides! And we were running a bit late on the movie too!

A quick pick-up for our tickets, goody bags & 3D glasses (yes, it’s in 3D!) & we were ushered to our seats in the cinema hall. Complimentary popcorn & Cokes awaits us at our seats in the cinema hall itself. Awesome!

After 2++ hours for the movie, of which I thought was way too draggy, it’s dinnertime!

Amarin Heavenly Thai restaurant in Mid Valley had it’s share of good & bad reviews but dinner that night was pleasant overall. I liked the appetiser platter, the prawns, the green curry chicken & the steamed fish!

It was great catching up over dinner with some of the bloggers too! It’s really the highlight of why I love attending these get-togethers – it has always been for the comradeship & the opportunity to meet new friends. I mean, how much is a movie ticket anyways right? We all can afford it but events like this are priceless.  

It’s always good to Bryan! One of the best bloggers I have worked with.

Also Helenness! And this pair of hubby & wife. They were very friendly & bubbly!

Buzz & Woody!! :yahoo: All the way from Hong Kong too!

Woody & Buzz came on stage for a quick photography session with the crowd after some preliminary rounds of Q & A and games with the audience. The host for the event was funky, bubbly Azura from Disney.

The Disney host, Azura. She was a bundle of energy on stage! Guess it comes with the job! ;- )

All the images here are taken with the HTC Desire. I have been pretty amazed with the camera capabilities so far & it has instilled enough confidence in me to actually leave my Point & Shoot at home!

Since Monday, I have used the camera under numerous circumstances & lighting, and with the exception of clubs/pubs, the picture quality for normal objects photography deserved a special mention.

Below: Clear, crisp pictures. Please don’t be silly & tell me your DLSR/prosumer cams can take better pics. This is a HP cam ok!

I wouldn’t say I have used the camera to the best of it’s technical capabilities. I’m sure with further fooling around with the various options, I’m bound to discover more of it’s potential. Right now? I’m thrilled to that I got better pics to post on my blog! ;-)
I remembered that for this group photo below, the face recognition feature was activated and each of the individuals’ faces in the screen was “box-ed” into focus. Cool! :good:

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland features a new adventure in the form of a 19 year old Alice, about to be married off to a ‘Lord’ of an acceptable social standing & reputable family, which other than an indigestion problem, would have been considered a catch as a husband.

In the midst of discovering herself & her direction in life (wow, you mean this kind of thing do happen back then?), she was unwittingly bought back to the Wonderland she visited as a child, but this time with absolutely no recollection of what happened.

I am writing this review as someone who has absolutely no idea of the story of Alice in Wonderland. Nope, I haven’t read the book, nor I do have any such intention to do so in the next 10 years.

Back to movie….I’m sorry that I didn’t really enjoy it. I mean, yeah, there was plenty of props, an almost unbelievable FASHIONABLE attire (check out Alice’s dresses!) and dialogues at most parts that was completely UNcomprehensible.

The 3D rendition was almost negligible too;  for all that I could make out of the special effects (if there was any to begin with).

Now now, don’t let a cynical 28- year- old who does not believe in fairy tales deter you from the snaking long queues at the ticketing counter.
I think this makes an entertaining watch for those who are fans of Alice and is certainly a very child- friendly film, though The White Queen is a bit too bimbo-ish to be of any role model. All in all, it is still the perfect movie for families.

For me, the tea party made up for any disappointment. Scrummy sandwiches, English cookies and ok-can-eat-la cupcakes. We ate for free of course, but no fret, the tea set is available for RM35++ at Dome or Aseana Cafe.

For the KLCC screening (there is another in MV this coming Wed, which promises to be bigger, better & more extravagant!), the tea party was at the Melium Galleria, Ground Floor, Suria KLCC. The whole place was decked out in props and an actual tea table for Alice and her friends were laid out at the venue.

Greedy me walloped the whole plate (it was meant for 2 ) by myself.  My vote goes to the sandwiches and scones.

Free popcorn & Coke at the entrance to the cinema hall. A big thank you to Disney, Buena Vista Columbia & The Melium Group for the exclusive Media invites.
