Savour 2013, Singapore – The Great FIJI Water Race

All thanks to Nespresso Singapore and my good friend Adrian (superadrianme.com), I got myself access to Savour 2013 in Singapore yesterday! 🙂

My first evening here had been fabulous; sipping great coffee, tasting fabulous food and meeting brilliant chefs.

And now, I’m now all geared up and excited for the next itinerary of my trip – The Great FIJI Water Race by Fiji Water; to be held on Saturday, 13 April 2013 from 12noon to 4pm. The prize?
SGD1,000 cash and one year’s supply of FIJI Water!

The race is a fun initiative by FIJI Water to engage participants in an exciting Amazing-Race style discovery of Savour 2013.
To vie for the grand prize, contest hopefuls need to complete 5 tasks and 3 optional bonus tasks to earn the most points in the shortest amount of time, while blazing their trail through photos and captions on Instagram, with the hash tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013.

In addition, mini prizes including goodies like complimentary cooking demonstrations with Balzac Brasserie’s Chef Jean-Charles Dubois at Tools of the Trade and delicious cupcakes from Cake Over Heels will be awarded to the first 100 participants who complete each task.

How to Participate:

Simply visit any of the Key Task or Bonus Task stations listed below, to pick up a scorecard. At each station, there will be a Station Master who will explain details of the race, and validate the start time. At the end of the race, submit the scorecard to any Station Master who will record the race completion time.

The RACE: Outline of Key Tasks and Bonus Tasks

The race comprises five Key Tasks and three Bonus Tasks, and participants can earn up to a maximum of 90 points.

5 KEY TASKS

All 5 Key Tasks are compulsory tasks, and must be completed within 4 hours from 12noon to 4pm. Participants can pursue the key tasks in any order.

Task 1 (5 points): Take a photo of the 5 different labels behind the FIJI Water bottle. Upload the photo on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013.
Location: Tuck Lee store
Mini Prize: Complete the task for a bottle of Lil’ FIJI (limited to the first 100 participants)

Task 2 (5 points): Find and take a photo with the person wearing the mask of Guest Chef Emilio Macias from restaurant Astrid y Gaston in Peru. Upload the photo on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013 #EmilioMacias.
Location: This person will roam the festival grounds. Follow FIJI Water on Twitter or Instagram @FIJIWaterSG for updates on his latest location.

Mini Prize: Complete the task for a limited edition FIJI Water straw (limited to the first 100 participants)

Task 3 (5 points): Decorate a FIJI Water inspired cupcake at Cake Over Heels. Upload a photo of the cupcake on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavor2013 #CakeOverHeels
Location: Cake Over Heels booth

Mini Prize: Complete the task for a free cupcake (limited to the first 100 participants)

Task 4 (5 points): Take a photo of the different dishes at Balzac Brasserie. Upload the photo on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013 #BalzacBrasserie Location: Balzac Brasserie booth
Mini Prize: Complete the task for a complimentary cooking demonstration with Chef Jean- Charles Dubois at Tools of the Trade (limited to the first 100 participants)

Task 5 (5 points): Take a photo of five of your favourite finds at Barilla. Upload the photo on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013 #Barilla
Location: Barilla booth
Mini Prize: Complete the task for a complimentary goodie bag from Barilla (limited to the first 100 participants)

3 BONUS TASKS

Participants who complete the five Key Tasks can proceed to the three Bonus Tasks to clock additional points. All tasks are held at the Tuck Lee Store.

Bonus Task 1 (10 points): Take a photo of FIJI Water’s old bottle design. Upload the photo on Instagram with a caption, and tag #FIJIWaterSavour2013.

Bonus Task 2 (10 points): Sell 12 bottles of FIJI Water.
Bonus Task 3 (10 points): Answer 10 questions about FIJI Water. Gain 1 point per correct answer.

The team to complete all 5 Key Tasks (Bonus Tasks are optional) in the shortest amount of time wins an additional 20 points, while teams that complete all Key Tasks + Bonus Tasks will get an additional 10 points.

The top 10 captioned photos (taken as part of the tasks) will win 5 points each, and the ‘Best Captioned Photo’ at the end of the race will win dinner for two at Balzac Brasserie and five cases of FIJI Water.

    Ooo Savour! I went to last year’s one, spent a (relative) small fortune on tastings at the various chef’s … outlets? stalls? lol. This year have to skip cos on honeymoon, gotta save up for next year’s event ehehe.

      And indeed it’s gonna be a small fortune. So expensive even though it was tasting portions 🙁 Well, that’s cos I earn in ringgit malaysia you see 😛
