When I was told to attend the Samsung Digital Imaging Launch 2011 about a week back, I thought it was just all about the MV800 Multi-View point & shoot camera.
A quick Google reviewed some pictures & interesting specs; and I thought it was a nice camera to have; something in continuity from their ST700 and PL120 range – where it’s all about dual-view & the ability to take (front facing) “cam-whoring” pictures of yourself.
Taking it up a notch, the MV800 has a Flip-out Touch Display that allow users to frame the perfect shot or portrait, from any angle.
I certainly didn’t expect to step into a cinema hall & saw a collection of not 1, but 4 new cameras plus an ultra affordable camcorder on display!
Themed “Life, from All Angles”, the launch featured the groundbreaking Samsung Multiview MV800, pioneering a new “MultiView” category to enable today’s camera users to take the perfect shot or portrait from all angles.
**The SAMSUNG DIGITAL IMAGING BRAND EVANGELIST pose. LOL.
Apparently I will be getting my grubby hands on one of these babies, and you can watch out for my post next week once I’ve reviewed it! For now, let’s get on to the specs shall we?

While I’m still tinkling with videography, and so far been very happy with the Samsung Galaxy S2 video taking capabilities (I promise my drifting video will be up by this weekend ok, work’s been crazy!), Samsung tempts me with yet another compact but powerful camcorder. Ok la, I admit the most tempting part was the price of RM699.

The new range of lens.
This picture is purely for the effect! Cool eh?
Good launch venue. So comfortable & the tiered sitting ensured that all of us could see what’s going on at the front. I wish Samsung has thrown in complimentary movie that day too! Hahaa.a….
So stay tuned for my review on the Samsung W800! You can expect some funny antics as I’ll try using the camera’s 180 degrees flip-out to take some weird angled shots!
