RIM launches the new BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900, BlackBerry® Torch™ 9860, BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 & BlackBerry Curve 9360

Just last month I was thinking of throwing my BB Torch.
Was bored senseless. Nothing to shout about asthetically. Won’t turn heads as I whipped it out of my Gucci.

The BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 (it looks exactly the same as my current 1st Gen BB Torch).

Yes, the BB is a totally reliable workhorse & the BBM is god-sent; perfect in most ways, ideal for my lifestyle. But sexayy? Nah.. that’s never an adjective to describe a BB.

Until I lay my eyes on the new BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900 that’s it. Whoaaaa.. now that’s a nice little new toy I won’t mind owning!!! And yes, I’m going to throw away my BB Torch. :P

RIM: The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the thinnest BlackBerry® smartphone yet at only 10.5mm, and the 1st to offer the perfect union of a high performance keyboard & touch display integrated within the BlackBerry Bold design.

Slim…& sexy!

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 fits nicely in the hands, and the Blackberry 7 OS is zippy & smooth. It has the perfect marriage of hardware & software (for now) in a BB.
Both the touchscreen sensitivity & trackpad were a breeze to use. I’m primarily holding on to a BB cos I like using keypad (perfect for typing & driving) and the keypad on the BB Bold 9900 is well-spaced (for me at least) & the keys were nice to type on.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to include built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), a new
technology that is enabling many new and exciting capabilities, including the ability to pair with NFC-enabled accessories or read SmartPoster tags with a simple tap of the smartphone.

Other than the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900 Research In Motionalso launched 3 other BBs – namely the The BlackBerry Torch 9860, The BlackBerry Torch 9810 & The BlackBerry Curve 9360.

BlackBerry Torch 9860.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphone offers a fast and fluid performance in a stylish new all-touch design. With a spectacular new 3.7” display, the largest ever on a BlackBerry smartphone, the new all-touch BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphone is optimized for high-quality multimedia, web browsing and gaming.

My opinion? Well, I find the touch keypad a wee hard to type & I kept making spelling mistakes. Also, I thought it looked a bit too “HTC-like” to me. Hhmm..I need to get myself a fully touchscreen smartphone soon (iPhone 5 !!! ) before I totally lose my ability to type on a touchscreen keyboard!

Still slim.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 .

The 9810 is a powerful evolution of the BlackBerry Torch 9800. The new smartphone is faster and more fluid with high performance hardware features and the new BlackBerry 7 OS delivering an enhanced multimedia experience.
Featuring a large 3.2”, high resolution touch display and a distinctive BlackBerry keyboard that easily slides out to allow fast typing, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 truly delivers the best of both worlds.

My thoughts? Well, it’s a decent phone. It’s after all an improved version of my current Torch 9800, of which I have been using for the past 7 months. I had no problems with it except for laggy browsing experience; of which is supposedly fixed for this Torch 9810 since Blackberry 7 OS enables zipper browsing experience & there are hardware upgrades here as well.
