Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran – the Resort, Serenity Spa, the Jimbaran Beach

Everything about Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran is about the Saltwater Lagoon. The moment we arrived at the lobby, everyone including myself was drawn to the floor to ceiling glass overlooking the saltwater lagoon.

I forgot about checking in, luggage, my welcome drink and everything else. I just stood mesmerized with the view. Now, this is a real getaway! No views of shops or traffic, but just serenity and flowing water.

Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran really feels like a real resort style hotel, and though it does not have direct access to the beach, the beach is a mere 3 minutes walk out of the resort. But with the expansive 1,300 square metres salt-water lagoon pool, who needs a beach??? :DD

And if you choose the Lagoon Access Room (or the Aqua Pool Sky Penthouse which comes with a private saltwater pool) you’ll have your private terrace with 24 hours access to the saltwater lagoon. It’s clean, safe and so convenient as you can jump straight into the pool whenever you feel like it and go back into your room to change,/watch TV/relax/surf the net and then jump back into the pool again – which was what I did during my stay here. 🙂

Jimbaran was a tiny fishing village but has since evolved to be a popular getaway place in Bali with the sprouting of several world class 5 star beach resorts. Jimbaran is perfect for those seeking refuge and tranquility as there are little attractions in terms of shopping and practically zero nightlife. But the vibrant nightscene of Seminyak is about 40 minutes away by land and cost about IDR 80,000 (RM25) ONE way by taxi on a good traffic day.

Still, if you must shop, a new shopping is just within walking distance to Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran and houses a spa, some F & B and souvenirs outlets within the building.

A few kilometres more from the resort are roadside stalls selling local delicacies and massage, clothing and dry goods. So you can rent a motorbike and go exploring! However, if you can’t ride one, then just hire a taxi.

I stayed in the resort most of the time as it has everything I need. WIFI access throughout the resort, 24 hours accessible pool, great food by Chef Paul and a beach that’s merely 3 minutes stroll away. My mornings are spent clocking- in my targets of 7 – 10 km daily. 🙂

The beach is lovely. I saw some locals and volunteers cleaning the beach each morning to keep it pristine. Granted, it’s a public beach so there are no dedicated lounge chairs but it is not a busy beach like Kuta where it’s so crowded that there’s barely any space to sit on the sand or walk.

I usually have the beach to myself (along with some fellow joggers) in the mornings when I jog. The waves here are strong enough to surf and again, I wished I had a surfboard!

The beach is long, almost 2-3 km in length from one end to the other and the cooling breeze in the morning motivated me to run my targeted distances. It felt so good that I didn’t even notice the time or distance. One morning, a little doggie attached himself to me and ran with me the whole morning, just trotting at my side.

After my runs, I usually hit the pool or head for breakfast. The breakfast spread here is scrumptious; great variety with some very healthy options as well as outright indulgent available as well. More on breakfast in another post but do check out my feast in Bamboo Chic (where breakfast is served) HERE to get an idea of Chef Paul’s capabilities!

The Serenity Spa wasn’t ready yet during my visit but spa services are already available for guests. What happens when you book a session is that your session will be done in one of the resort rooms instead. The therapist is experienced and essential oils, robes, shower and spa facilities are as just as complete.

The spa menu is pretty extensive as well. See the below?

I took the Urbane Man Combined-Asian Massage which is custom massage for a man that is always on the go. The combined Shiatsu, Reflex, and Thai techniques addresses deep muscles tensions, sluggish energy, provides the instant boost.

Though it’s stated on the brochure that it’s a massage primarily for men, the phrases “always on the go“, “addresses deep muscles tensions, sluggish energy, provides the instant boost” jumped at me and I requested for the massage immediately.

The one hour massage did me good. The therapist started from the back down to the legs and then turning me over to work on my shoulders, stomach and feet.

The spa may not be ready as yet, but the gym is.

Facing the pool, the air-conditioned gym has all the basic machinery and weights for a complete full body workout. For floor exercises and stretches, there’s a spacious studio with exercise balls and mats.

There are not much grounds around the resort to walk around as it is quite a compact and cosy resort. All units faces the saltwater lagoon and strolling around the resort would give you a very relaxed feel that seeing water normally does.

No worries if you’re traveling with kids as there is a kid’s pool as well. The saltwater lagoon is only 1.2m deep anyways.

Other than in your cosy room, one could just lie down and relax by the lagoon as well. I love the chairs here as these are much more comfortable than the common poolside lounge chairs.

The entrance to Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran Resort can be a bit obscured but from my experience with taxi drivers, they do know where it is. If they don’t just mention the shopping mall – Jimbaran Corner or Intercontinental Hotel Jimbaran. Le Meridien is still new now and I foresee that won’t be an issue in the near future. I took a cab back from Seminyak and with these 2 landmarks the taxi driver was able to send me back right to the entrance of Le Meridien.

Once you see the Jimbaran Corner shopping mall, turn into the lane and this lane will lead you to the arrival lobby of Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran. A quick security check later, the vehicle would be allowed in and you would then need to alight to hop on the resort’s buddy which will take you up to the lobby.

Just as I have mentioned before, the lobby is impressive. Vibrant colours, modern furniture and contemporary art pieces draw your eyes to them and make you linger and admire.

Checking-in was a breeze and the check-in personnel was very efficient. In general, service is impeccable here at Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran. If you haven’t figured it already, I truly enjoyed my stay here. 🙂

The bar serves drinks and cocktails so guests can relax and enjoy the view here both in the afternoons and nights.

And of course, let’s not forget the water feature.

Le Meridien Jimbaran - Last day - rebeccasaw-028

I was sad to leave after 2 days and 2 nights of rejuvenation and tranquility. I’m already making plans to come back later this year once all the other facilities are operational. Jimbaran certainly suits me better than Kuta. I think I’m getting old! Peace and tranquility seems to be the main drawing factors for me to choose my holidays nowadays.

Bye Bali. I’ll be back! :DD
