Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran Resort – my Lagoon Access Room Review

After 2 nights at the bustling town of Kuta, we were headed to Jimbaran next. Being a first timer on Bali island, I had no previous acquaintance of the island and I found out after the first 2 days that different parts of the Bali can be entirely different – Kuta, Jimbaran, Ubud, Nusa Dua and Seminyak. Furthermore, distances from each of these areas are really far; almost 40 – 1.5 hours by land at times.

Thankfully there wasn’t much need to go exploring as the resorts I was hosted in was too comfortable with enough food to keep both mind and stomach satisfied. This is especially so for Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran, where my Lagoon Access Room made it so convenient for me to jump into the pool that I did little else!

For most of my stays in resorts/hotel, I would use the gym religiously but ended up only taking pictures of the pool. That’s sad, given that most resorts has a nice pool, but even for Sheraton Bali Kuta, I didn’t even swim. Excuse ranges from “I hate getting my hair wet and having to dry it afterwards”, “I’m too lazy to pack my sunblock and change of clothes”, “I’m too lazy to come out of my room, take the lift, walk to the pool, find a spot to call my own and keep having to look at it from time to time worrying if someone took my sunnies, camera/phone/bag”, “I hate shivering and dripping in the cold when I come out of the pool and having to walk back to my room”, etc.
So that’s it. No pools or swimming for me.

The Lagoon Access Room gave me no such excuses. It was fabulously convenient and what made the swimming even better was the saline water (treated but no chlorine!) that’s actually warm. We were there at the beginning of March, and occupancy is still low which gave us the whole pool to ourselves!
Anyhow, the pool is large (1,300 square metres) so “everyone can swim” even if all 118 suites in Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran is running at full occupancy.

BELOW: The Lagoon Access units gives occupants 24 hours direct access to the lagoon pool from its private terrace.

The lagoon pool aside, the contemporary designed room exclude comfort and soothing oceanic colours. Each unit ranges from 62-67 square metres and the floor-to-ceiling windows allows ample light, something which I love.

However, blackouts and curtains are available for you to turn it to a dracula den if required.

The Le Meridien signature bed was as comfortable as the Sweet Sleeper in Sheraton Bali Kuta. Sleep was certainly sweet!

If you haven’t seen my video of the room, do watch it now. The room is beautifully designed and chic!

The split level unit offers a “separation” between the bed and the work desk and lounge area. Instead of just a room, it somewhat made me feel as if I have a full suite to myself. 🙂

On one side is the pretty chaise chair with a dedicated lamp for rest and reading.

On the other end is the writing desk; sturdy and large, complete with plugpoints for your electronics and media hub connections.

A fully stocked refreshment center, complimentary water bottles and coffee/tea making facilities shares the same level as the sofa and work desk. The usual coffee and tea sachets are provided.

High speed WIFI Internet access is complimentary for guests and there are international electric outlet throughout the bedroom, with one on each side of the bed.

Additionally, each side of bed has personal reading lights, which is good for those who are sharing room and your partner might not choose to sleep at the same time.

From my experience, common form of reading lights are ones that are installed on the wall or bedside lamps on bedside tables. At Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran Resort the reading lights are installed to the bed headboard and the light ray are more focused, which I find it to be thoughtful if you have a room mate.

More comforts includes bathrobes, a walk-in wardrobe, bedroom slippers, iron, safe, and even a bottle of mosquito repellent!

Are the sort who loves a bathtub to soak in? Well, I am! 🙂

But due to the close proximity of the lagoon pool, I didn’t have a need for the tub at all. Why soak in a tub when my lagoon access room allows me 24 hours access to a 1300 square metres “tub” outside? 🙂

The spa-inspired bathroom is large and I love the wide, all-round mirrors and marble walls. The allocation of separate stalls for lavatory and shower is another noteworthy feature. Oh that, and the rain showers.

Currently the heater takes a while to warm up but I presume that’s because the hotel is still new and there might still be minor electrical and mechanical issues.

And this has to be one of the nicest bathrobe I have seen in a hotel so far!

The stool provided at the vanity area comes in useful for females especially, while the complimentary amenities are pretty complete.

I truly enjoyed my stay here and I’m already planning a return trip sometime this year! And of course I’m aiming to book the Lagoon Access room again. 🙂

Cos, frankly, this is what makes the stay here fabulous :DD

I sincerely recommend Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran to those who are seeking a rejuvenating and relaxing retreat in Bali as Jimbaran is the total opposite of busy Kuta. Seafood is aplenty in Jimbaran and Kuta is about 40 minutes away via land transport. The night scene of Seminyak is also about 40 minutes away and cost about 80,000 IDR (taxi ride) per way. I know, because I went to Mozaic Bali in Seminyak on my last evening of my stay here! 🙂

There are 8 other types of rooms besides the Lagoon Access and I can’t wait to check out the others when I revisit later this year. Other than the Lagoon Access room I think the next best unit is the Aqua Pool Sky Penthouse that comes with private access to your very own rooftop, with alfresco dining, lounging area and a private saltwater pool that overlooks the saltwater lagoon and Jimbaran Bay ocean view!

That saltwater lagoon certainly makes the resort a win! I would skip around in my bikini, jump into the pool, come up, eat, jump into the pool.. LOL!
