Jom Buka Puasa at THE WESTIN KUALA LUMPUR!

I admit.
I’m impressed.
The spread at The Westin delivers both in taste and choice.

I was there 2 years back and while the spread was fantastic, some of the food didn’t quite impress. This year, I almost enjoyed everything, especially so the DESSERTS.
This “dessert room” is like a child’s dream come true.

Here the in-house made ice cream beckons even before I had my mains. Offering a total of about 5 different flavours (yam, mango, sesame, raspberry, chocolate), these ice cream are huge in flavour and delightfully creamy yet not too rich.

The amazing array of baked goods, the riot of colours from the fruit display and the well made (most of the ones I tried are good!) desserts are worth the calories.
With so many choices from the hot food section, it’s a shame I couldn’t muster more tummy space for desserts but trust me, I sampled almost everything! 🙂

Doesn’t help the diet when the desserts are so pretty too! 🙂

While desserts at most buffets can be stingy on the ingredients, nothing of that applies here.
Every dessert was loaded with generous toppings of cream or fruits or chocolate!

Coming back to the hot food, I reckon that everyone should start with the lamb. Well at least that has always been my modus operandi.
Though Westin doesn’t offer a whole lamb, the was satisfyingly tender and tasty to please. I’m a very protein-based eater (exception made for desserts) so meats, fish and greens are always my focus.

Freshly grilled seafood and beef fillets cooked ala-minute are great protein options.

The finger-licking BBQ Style Braised Short Ribs.

I love a good grilled (whole) fish anytime! 🙂
This is the Roasted Warm Barramundi, Warm Potato Salad.

Not many (or none so far that I know of) serves duck at the buffet line. This roast ducky is super juicy and perfect with the fried mantaos.

Not a fan of duck? Plenty of foul to go around .Stay safe with the chickens then. 🙂

The spread is very much traditional and local delicacies skewed so we have the Indian, Malay and Chinese sections as the common case with all buka puasa buffets now.

Chinese: Cashew Chicken, fried rice, dim sum, fried dory with siamese chilli, fried carrot cake, etc.
