I was honoured to be present at the Gala Night of Islamic Fashion Festival 2010 yesterday night at the JW Marriot Hotel, KL.
Note: All pics taken with the Sony NEX 3.
Opulence, lavish & dazzling are the keywords to describe the fashion & this matches the ballroom set up of JW Marriot that night. My eyes were nearly blinded as I feasted them on my surroundings as well as the outfits of the Datins, Sultanahs, Datos (females) & Pn Sris that night!
Having have to keep to the strict requirements of Islam for modesty in dressing, designers have explored every every venue to interpret this into the dazzling designs that would not look out of place in any high fashion show.
I will be adding more information on IFF XI 2010 soon. Meanwhile, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. 😉
All the above are Melinda Looi’s.
Next up: Indonesian Designer Jovan Mandagie! Gorgeous designs, with a special dress modelled by our very own Andrea Fonseka and MS Malaysia 2010 Nadine Ann Thomas.
Ms Malaysia 2010 – Nadine Ann Thomas:
The rest of the Jovan Mandagie collection:
The designer himself! Jovan Mandagie. Think you can afford his designs? His showroom is on Jalan Maarof, Bangsar.
More to come! I’m uploading more pics as fast I can…
Islamic fashion can also be made dazzling! Not boring type of dress I’ve thought before.
Oh yes! It was such an eye opening event for me too!

My goodness. Some of those dresses are really unforgiving – if you are any shorter or fatter than a typical supermodel then you will look like a walking tent!
Still, the designs are all very interesting…. 🙂
(I love some of those fabrics. They looks really soft and feminine)
Haha..
Ermm.. i think in general if you are short or fat.. well.. :mail:
