Club Med Bali – the Deluxe Garden View Terrace and The Suites

When I was in Club Med Bali, I was hosted in the Deluxe Garden View Terrace, which is one of the standard configuration for the rooms here.

For a better idea of the layout of the room you can view it on VIDEO:

The Club Med Resort of Bali has 393 rooms located in 5 buildings, each 1 to 3 stories high and designed in traditional Balinese style architecture with primarily use of wood and natural elements. These are named Flores, Sumba, Java, Lombok and Madura or goes by the number of 1000, 5000, 3000 etc.

Here’s a pictorial map of the whole area, just to give you an idea of how vast the property is.

Nearer to the beach side are the recreational areas while the accommodations are located in the inner landscape.

And below is an overview of the facilities here at Club Med Bali, ensuring every guest’s days here are filled with total relaxation or non-stop fun, however way they wish it to be.

The Deluxe Garden View Terrace are located on every floor of the Flores, Lombok, Java and Sumba buildings, and these are with a view over the gardens. Rustic wooden furnishings, warm lighting, a satisfying comfortable bed forms the main interior of this Balinese-style room.

Guests can consider the Deluxe, Superior or Suites, or Suites with Connecting Balcony (living room + room + bathroom + walk-in closet) as well, depending on the budget and the need.

Under the non-suite  category, you’ll be able to take advantage of:

    • ** Deluxe Garden View Terrace- Park View- my room – as you can see below:

The Deluxe Garden View Terrace as its name implied is located on the ground floor.

A bright red chaise chair sits at the side of the entrance from the door…

..that welcomes you into a room with spacious and warmly lit interior. Floors are non-carpeted but that’s practical for a resort of its kind…

… and separate rooms are allocated for lavatory, wash area as well as a shower cubicle. The shower cubicle occupies the space within the wash area.

1 Club Med Bali - Rebecca Saw-007

The vanity area are not as big as the current newer designed hotels but functional nonetheless with sufficient basic amenities provided.

I liked the nice “massage” soap which design really helped to lather nicely, shower gel, cotton buds, body lotion and shampoo. I had to request for a dental kit as that wasn’t automatically provided but it is complimentary upon request.

In a corner, the shower cubicle is partitioned with glass plus a door. The entrance is raised from the ground and when is the door is closed, water is prevented from splashing/flowing out into the washroom, ensuring that the wash area remains dry; something which I’m very anal about.

Do note that the amenities are not replenished daily unless it is used up in entirety. However upon request housekeeping would top up on whichever item you wish. I’m actually supportive of this practice as I don’t see why a soap/toothbrush/shower gel that I have only used once/twice is replaced daily after each housekeeping session.
We should be more mindful of our current environment distress and inculcate green practices as much as possible especially in hotels and restaurants. Do not take or use more than you need and try to finish whatever you took before opening or requesting for a new one.

The latest bathroom luxuries of rainshower heads are not installed yet for the Deluxe Garden View Terrace (mine) though it is available in the Suites. But more on the suites later. And yes, there is hot water of course; both at the basin and in the shower. Water pressure for both sides are fine too.

Hotels usually provides a few towels; face, hand and bath towels. For the Deluxe Room I got hand and bath towels.

Below: Additional convenience – clothes line within the shower cubicle.

Back to the room. A large cupboard, TV, work desk, side table and arm chairs as well as a mini fridge with coffee making facilities made up for the rest of the comforts of the room.

1 Club Med Bali - Rebecca Saw-014

Since this is a popular family resort (Club Med Bali was ranked No. 1 in the Top 10 Hotels for Families – Asia’ category by TripAdvisor in its 2013 Travelers’ Choice® awards) as well as for company retreats, extra mattresses is already stored ready in the cupboard.
In addition, there’s there standard safe for personal belongings, drawers, hangers and iron + ironing board.

1 Club Med Bali - Rebecca Saw-015

As a Club Med package is all-inclusive (food, lodging, transport), food, drinks and snacks (instant noodles) in the room are complimentary. Like I said in my video, this is probably the only resort that you can clean out the mini bar without worrying about the bill.
Besides, there isn’t room service available and both restaurants; Agung and Batur are not open 24 hours. Should hunger strikes in the middle of the night, this is where the instant noodles come in useful; again replenished upon request. For a healthier alternative, I’ll advise to dive for the fruits basket.
And since the resort is not entirely contained within a building like in city hotels, a bright torchlight with a working battery is thoughtfully provided for those with nocturnal tendencies.

Bathrobes.
I love them since I never pack pajamas during my getaways. That’s what the bathrobes are for! 😀

Another essential are powerpoints for the gadget reliant traveler.
There’s one on each side of the bed but these are the Indonesia electrical points. My GO (Gentle Organiser as they are known here) Lucy told me to grab travel adapters at the reception if I need any (it’s good to know that it is provided for free) but I ended up using the international plug at the work desk since I was lazy to deal with international adapters. I have used a few brands before; each costing about RM100- RM150 but they never seem to fit properly!

I thought it was weird to have the hairdryer on the table. Also there isn’t a dedicated desk lamp (as you know I work late into the night) but the ceiling lights were bright enough so that wasn’t a major issue.

In conclusion below are the configurations of the Rooms:

Club Med Bali - rebeccasaw-004

I’m done with the Deluxe Room for now and next would be the Suite connecting with Superior Balcony which we were shown during the resort tour on a separate day.

I have created a table to illustrate the differences between both (other than PRICE & SPACE) clearly: 🙂

Another picture as below to show the living room from the balcony:

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-096

This living room is connected to one master bedroom with a King Bed and another guest room with twin beds. Needless to say, this is a suite suitable for a family.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-086

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-100

In the master bedroom, a walk-in closet (where you can find the bedroom slippers – something that’s not inclusive in the Deluxe Room) connects with a vanity area that comes with a bathtub.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-098

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-087

Even the vanity area is larger with his/her section.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-089

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-088

The selection of amenities provided are much expansive too; hand towels, sewing and dental kit are the few that I noticed are different from what was provided in my Deluxe Room. Furthermore, these comes in 2 (as in 2 sets) instead of one. I glanced quickly only, but I believe that I saw a different brand of shampoo and body wash provided as well in the shower cubicle.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-090

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-091

It is pretty obvious that the Suites are renovated before as there is a marbled vanity area, 2 shower heads – one a rain shower and a bathtub.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-092

The living room opens out to a cosy balcony that overlooks the tropical gardens.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-093

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-094

The interconnecting guest room also has a balcony.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-101

The other guest room (NOT the master room & presumably for the kids ) has a connecting wash room as well similar to mine in the Deluxe Room.

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-103

Club Med Bali - Resort Tour - rebeccasaw-102

Basically the interconnecting Suite is alike having a Living Room + Master Bedroom + a Deluxe Room with its adjoining bathroom. If you choose just Suite then it’s just the living area plus a room.

As I have summarized nicely in this table, the amenities for each are different and I hope that this table provides you a better idea of what accommodation are Club Med Bali would be suitable for your vacation here should you decide to visit Club Med Bali soon! 🙂
