Christmas at Ritz Carlton, Kuala Lumpur

Out of the many Christmas buffets I have browsed through for a foodies gathering this coming yuletide, I’m most thrilled by the Christmas Brunch by the Ritz-Carlton, KL.

Christmas at Ritz CArlton

I think it’s because after reading through Ritz Carlton’s Christmas promotions, I’m suitably convinced that Ritz is one of the few hotels in KL that will be bringing a true Christmas experience for those who are looking forward to the “Christmas just like at home” affair.

For a start, rather than just a Christmas tree, Ritz Carlton’s lobby host a giant Gingerbread house!
Big enough to fit a grown adult, and surrounded by all sorts of goodies and treats for the children – the Gingerbread house excludes a magical welcome to all its guests to the hotel this Christmas.

And of course, not to be left out, Ritz’s  magnificent Christmas Tree is sparkling bright & cheery right beside the Gingerbread house.

Other than that, just last weekend, Ritz Carlton hosted the third annual Teddy Bear Tea.

Teddy Bear Tea

The Teddy Bear Tea is a fun-filled day for children with activities such as a Teddy Bear Workshop, Christmas tales reading with Santa Claus and cake decoration with the hotel’s Pastry Chef.
A delectable Afternoon Tea spread is specially created for the day.
The adults’ menu includes items such as winter truffle scented Wagyu beef brochette, wild berry crème brûlée, butter poached Maine lobster quiche, with the children’s menu featuring goodies such as teddy’s gummy bears and lollies, peanut butter & jelly sandwich & teddy smiles cream cookies.

For decadent feasting, the Christmas Day Brunch is the perfect way to celebrate – and the Boxing Day Eggnog Sunday Roast got me piqued at “eggnog”. It’s certainly promises to be a dining experience just like how a true Christian family meal would be like!

I mean, if you want to truly experience a Christmas feast, it’s got to have the whole works right? And blasphemy if there is char kuey teow, sashimi or roti canai on the buffet table! I want Christmas just like how it’s like in the US, minus the snow of course 😉

Ritz Carlton EggNog Brunch

The kind chef of Ritz Carlton is spreading the cheer & love this Christmas with his traditional egg-nog recipe . Thanks Chef for sharing it with my readers here! 😉

Eggnog

6 eggs
1 cup plus with 1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup brandy
1/3 cup dark rum
2 cups whipping cream
2 cups milk

All liquids should be very cold. Refrigerate in advance.

Beat the eggs for 2 to 3 minutes until very frothy. Gradually beat in the sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Stir in the cold brandy, rum, whipping cream and milk. Chill before serving. Sprinkle individual servings with more nutmeg.

So there! Make some yourself at home & bask in the warmth of a good spiced scented eggnog, or just come over to César’s.

The Ritz-Carlton Christmas Brunch on December 25 will leave any diner happy.  A feast of foods from all corners of the globe – from Alaskan king crab to Italian asparagus risotto & the whole leg of veal cooked to perfection along with the aged U.S. Black Angus prime rib smothered in rich bone marrow gravy.

Of course Christmas would not be the same without the traditional roast turkey, complete with chestnut stuffing, Cumberland chipolatas and roast gravy. Dessert buffet features tiramisu, crème brûlée and warm Christmas pudding.

I’m actually torned between the Christmas brunch or the Boxing day menu.

The Eggnog Sunday Roast on Boxing Day features a sumptuous spread that includes turkey with trimmings, prime rib of beef, marinated Norwegian salmon, hundreds of multi-coloured macaroons and, of course, cinnamon spiced Eggnog.

The Ritz-Carlton Christmas Brunch is served from 11.45am to 3.00pm on December 25, 2010 (Saturday) and is priced at RM170++ per adult and RM85++ per child under 12.

The Eggnog Roast is served between 11.30am and 3.00pm on December 26, 2010 (Sunday) in The Lobby Lounge.

Prices are RM130++ per person & RM65++ per child under 12.
Or check your family & friends into a two or three bedroom suite at The Ritz-Carlton.

The Christmas at The Ritz-Carlton package is available from December 24 to 31, 2010 and is priced at RM1,200++ per night for four guests in a Two Bedroom Suite and RM1,600++ per night for five guests in a Three Bedroom Suite. Prices are inclusive of breakfast on Christmas morning and Christmas Lunch on December 25.

For me personally, I think I’m going for the The Ritz-Carlton Christmas Brunch! 😉

i’ve always enjoyed brunching at ritz, mm any idea how long the xmas brunch runs for? i dislike crowds when it come to dining, so christmas is not an ideal time for me to be out there pigging out amd fighting for attention on service. 🙂
