Chinese New Year 2017 menu @ Golden Peony Conrad Centennial Singapore

I was at Golden Peony for a tasting session yesterday and I woke up this morning wishing that I could repeat the experience for breakfast!

The beautiful yee sang was a sight for the eyes with its realistic presentation of a rooster. The London duck, a notable item available in Conrad (few restaurants in Singapore offers this) was succulent and luscious with its signature crispy skin and soft, juicy fat.

I posted a video of the Suckling Pig stuffed with California Maki on my Facebook and was instantly bombarded with queries of ‘where, how much and when‘.

As I will be needing some time to edit, resize and write the full review, I’m sharing the Chinese New Year 2017 menu at Golden Peony Restaurant for now.

So do return for a full review later!

Every year Chef Ku will launch new dishes (refer to the CNY ala carte menu as below) that will be on Golden Peony’s main menu for rest of the year.

This year the highlight is the Whole Roast Suckling Pig with California Maki, featuring a whole mini hog stuffed with vinegared rice just like an actual sushi.

If you have a smaller group than 10, go for the individual sets.

Here’s one of the dishes that I’ve personally tried – Bi Feng Tang’ Golden Half Lobster with Spiced Almond Flakes.

Bi Feng Tang ” refers to the way the lobster is cooked. Since I’m a banana I have no idea what “bi feng tang” meant.

What I do know however, is that it is superbly done and I love it!
The lobster flesh was sweet, bouncy and fresh. Non- greasy tho it was deep fried, the batter itself was tasty and slightly spicy.
