Coex Intercontinental Hotel – Seoul, Korea

The majestic Coex Intercontinental Hotel, Seoul is a 5 start hotel in the business district of Seoul. The Korea World Trade Center complex, the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center, COEX Grand Intercontinental Seoul Hotel and Hyundai Department Store & the Sam-seong subway station are all within walking distance. Right below the hotel is the largest underground mall in Seoul; the Coex Mall which has over 200 shops & housed both AK & Lotte Duty Free shops, which happened to stock all the major luxurious brand names.

It is certainly a convenient location for those who are on business trips. Throughout the duration I was there, all rooms were fully booked. And every morning at the breakfast buffet, smartly dressed men & women sipped coffee & scribbled onto their diaries. I was probably the most relaxed one of them all!
Below: A video of my room. For the price, I thought it was pretty basic & I did expect more for a 5 star hotel! But since this is Seoul, Korea, where space is at a premium, this is probably as luxurious as it gets.
Note: 37 sq m, with high speed Internet (payable at USD25 per 24hr usage), pay TV, private safe, shower & bath tub, minibar & coffee making facilities, hair dryer.
Charges are from 260,000 won (RM754.00) to 380,000 won (RM1101.00) (depending on the period of your stay). (RM1 = 345 korean won). Peak periods are when the charges sky-rocket of course.
Pardon the loud exclamation that there was no TV 
. There is one, hidden behind some cupboards! And even bibles for prayers in the drawers.
Since the room is so expensive, you get FREE fresh water, FRESH FROM THE TAP!
The desk is well-equipped with sufficient powerpoints, but do make sure you bring your own international adapter. Electrical sockets (outlets) in South Korea (the Republic of Korea / ROK) usually supply electricity at between 220 and 240 volts AC. If you’re plugging in an appliance that was built for 220-240 volt electrical input, or an appliance that is compatible with multiple voltages, then an adapter is all you need.
But travel plug adapters do not change the voltage, so the electricity coming through the adapter will still be the same 220-240 volts the socket is supplying.

Facilities includes a fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool & an indoor driving range! And has anyone stayed in a hotel with has a pillow menu? All in my next post!

Boryeong Mud Festival in Daecheon Beach, South Korea – Videos!!

The Boryeong Mud Festival is an annual festival which takes place during the summer in Boryeong, South Korea & lucky me happened to be in South Korea on the very same week! Oh my god! !!
How can I not go, right? Such perfect coincidence! And rolling in mud is absolutely my kind of thing!!
The catch is, I only got to know about it on my 2nd day in Korea. So hence the whole ‘last minute trying to figure out a way to get there’, researching where is it exactly, arranging transportation & accommodation, etc; which is not easy considering the language barrier.
So I took the easy way out; I booked myself on a tour! That deserves another post on it’s own (some horror stories!). For now, I will just concentrate on the Mud Festival! Enjoy the videos!

MOS Burger in Singapore & Bangkok, Thailand!

Like in my case for this instance, it was in the form of a Tom Yum Pork Cheese Burger by MOS Burger in Thailand!

I have been most fortunate this time, for out of the previous 5-6 trips to Bangkok (too bad I wasn’t a blogger back then so there are no write-ups of my experiences), I have never stayed anywhere like this.
Mostly my accommodation is at budget hotels, or backpackers like the time I was in Singapore. I can only hope Tune Hotels opens one in Bangkok soon!

I managed to capture some interesting moments during the Malacca homestay with my handy HTC Desire last week.
From my previous post HERE, where I posted the video of my foster parents’ village house; now I got more to share:
1. Watching a female goat giving birth to 2 kids..(I whipped out my camera a bit too slow, else would have caught the moment when the kid popped out! No worries, will get a picture of it soon!).
