The famous cempedak cake is here in PJ, at Swich’s second outlet in Damansara Uptown.
And easily accessible since the second outlet is a cosy shoplot on the ground floor. It is unfortunate that many people still struggle to find Swich’s little space on the UG of Publika.
Such a shame, for Swich does make great cakes.
Their range of cakes may not suit everyone (no food would please everybody) but I have my favourites.
And other than their usual repertoire of creative and delicious bakes, Swich recently begin to offer customising toppings with their cakes.
Begin your cake adventure by choosing the base cake from 5 flavours; (Matcha Cheesecake, Valrhona Choc, Peanut Butter Cheesecake, French Vanilla Cheesecake or Red Velvet).
Then proceed to choose 1 frosting or drizzles from a list of 9.
Tough work I know.
Lastly it is the garnish, also a long list of over a dozen choices.
But fret not, for if you are undecided, add as many as you wish for RM1 each frosting/garnish.
If you like, you can add PREMIUM toppings which comes in the choice of:
– Creamy Matcha Belgian White Chocolate Ganache
– Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie Filling
– Roasted Bananas
If you stick to ONE frosting + ONE garnish, it is RM12+ per cake (+ is for service charge if dining in).
I chose durian frosting and coconut chips for my Match Cheesecake while the Red Velvet had hazelnuts & French vanilla cream.
Both are RM12+ each and went well with a cup of warm tea.
Here’s another example of a pairing that works; Matcha Cheesecake drizzled with Valrhona Ganache and garnished with Cacao Nibs and Almonds.
