Boundless Nutrition – Perfect Cookie – Chocolate Chip REVIEW

Just last weekend I was in SG and I took the opportunity to order some protein bars from someone I know in Singapore.
As you may know, Malaysia is terrible for such imported products. We lack the market (or do we?) and we don’t have the companies or individuals that stocks these items in any of the shops.

Just a few weeks back I got to know of 2 shops in KL that stocks Quest Bars but in limited flavours.
However on this trip alone I got 12 flavours of Quest Bars at SGD37.80 and a whole load of other protein bars to try.
I’ll be eating one per day til I finish them all and I plan to update a review each day of the protein bar/cookie/snack I tried!

So here’s today’s review: The Boundless Nutrition : Perfect Cookie – Chocolate Chip .

Boundless Nutrition - Perfect Cookie - Chocolate Chip REVIEW-002

Name: Boundless Nutrition : Perfect Cookie – Chocolate Chip
Price: SGD5.80 for 2 cookies
Taste & texture:
It is comparable to a soft cookie but with a texture is denser, doughy and chewier.
A typical cookie (even if it is soft baked) would typically be crumbly and brittle but this one can almost get
gummy.
A good news here is that it halted my cravings for a normal butter + choc chip cookie and the chocolate chips that are scattered throughout are a nice touch.
Better than your normal cookies?
Heck no, not at all.
But look at the ingredients & nutrition numbers – packed with protein (10g in ONE cookie) BUT I’m just wondering, is it alright to have 9g of sugars, 19 g of carbs and 5g of fat in ONE cookie?
How does that help you to eat clean?

Conclusion:
I enjoyed the cookie and wouldn’t mind eating it again except that I’m not sure about the 9g of sugars, 19 g of carbs and 5g of fat.
It is not just all sugars and fat like other cookies and still delivers the taste. No doubt that reflects in the price you pay though.
This is perfect for those who needs an indulgent every now (who doesn’t?) and then but can’t afford the calories.

There are altogether 3 flavours to choose from: Chocolate Chip, Macadamia, Peanut Butter.
PS: Gluten free too!

hmmm, ya, the nutritional content in that cookie doesn’t seem quite justifiable for a healthier range. looking forward to the rest of your reviews though … some of the quest bar varieties look tasty! 😀
