What’s for lunch?
Well, how about some chicken, set aflame at your table?
No doubt it is a bit theatric but who cares? It will look wonderful on Instagram!
I was at BLVD House for lunch a few weeks back.
At its initial stage of operations then (it opened in April 2016) there were some teething issues with service and for one of our orders.
That said, I enjoyed my meal and the Carpet Steak (RM90 for 250g, RM120 for 350g) was exceptional.
So exceptional that I vetoed my own decision on not writing about it.
The meat was dreamily succulent and oozes natural beefy flavours. There were less than the 4-5 oysters promised but I’ll be back soon for another serving so I’ll be counting my oysters this time.
Carpet steaks are not a common item on menus in restaurants in the Klang Valley and I’m thrilled that I’ve finally found a marvellous one.
I was told that the chef managed to secure a reliable supplier for their red meat and thus the excellent cuts of steaks here.
Other noteworthy dishes were the roasted bone marrows (RM35), the cod (RM95) and the lamb ribs (RM75).
See the marrow? *Slurps!*
You got to dig deep into the bones and get this mass of fatty matter out.
These trio cost RM35++/dish.
The other items were merely decent and definitely not a highlight.
Personally I’ll be back for the carpetbag steak and maybe a flaming chicken (RM60++/bird).
Nachos with 4 dips.
Passion Fruit Tofu Cheese Cake at RM20.
Oozing Ovomaltine Beignets & Vanilla Cinnamon Sugar at RM20.
I’ll be back soon and will be updating the prices of the dishes then.
Thanks dear Joe and the Kien family for the lunch treat!
