Amazing Thailand : Delicious Bangkok – Grilled pork neck, roast pork – Platinum Mall

I’m loving Bangkok. I mean who doesn’t? 🙂

Whenever I’m in Bangkok Platinum Mall is a must visit. Sometimes it disappoints; for although the variety and price beckons, the retailers/wholesalers here can be impertinent and surly.
Thankfully for this trip I was primarily distracted by the stretch of stalls just a short walk from its entrance.

You can’t miss it.
It is a whole row of about 10 stalls selling food.

And you sure as hell can’t miss this stall. The slabs of golden roast pork, the mountain of pork meat that steadily increased in height as the 2 busy man and woman chopped away to fulfil orders is sure to stop you in your tracks; more so if you’re a foodie.

I was so mesmerised that I snapped away at the meat. The smell of it was tantalising. Amazingly enough, though the pork neck was obviously fried, it wasn’t dripping in grease. The only oil would be its natural fat.

The standard price is 100baht (RM10) and I said ok. I asked for a mix of roast pork and pork neck since I couldn’t decide which could be better.
Since I couldn’t understand Thai, I peeked at the weighting scale as they packed my 100 baht worth of pork for me.
They moved pretty fast, but I was sure it is about 150-200g or so.

They throw in a pack of watery chilli sauce (the sort you dip your fried spring rolls into) as well but frankly there wasn’t a need for that at all.

This was a darn good snack. Not low fat obviously; but well worth the calories! 😀

So if you’re in the Platinum Mall area, do grab a pack of this. Your stomach will thank you for it. 🙂

Hahaha I think those stalls are perhaps only for short periods of time. I’m not sure if they are permanent.
For now it looks like it will be there for a while! 🙂
