Acer Aspire S7 – Acer’s thinnest, lightest touch Ultrabook & Acer’s latest Win 8 Touch devices Launch

I have been following Acer’s progression of their ultrabooks and I must say while the S5 was sleek and impressive, the S7 is gorgeous!

I love devices in white, and this certainly got my name written all over it! 🙂

Sleek and slim. Exactly how I like my ultrabooks.

The keyboard is a huge improvement from my Acer Aspire S3.

And it’s powerful enough too.

The Acer Aspire S7 series of Ultrabook is available in two sizes: 13.3-inch and 11.6-inch.

Both feature full HD (1920 x 1080) touch screens with electroluminescent backlit keyboard that offer a gentler glow than LED backlit keyboard, automatically activating and adjusting its brightness based on ambient lighting.

Another striking design elements of the 13.3-inch Aspire S7 is the white scratch-resistant Gorilla® Glass 2 structure. The Gorilla Glass structure enables a mere 11.9mm thickness with the strength to handle the impact of daily use.
This Aspire S7 model also features a dual torque hinge on the lid to create the ideal amount of resistance for touch control. Its touch-enabled screen can be laid back flat at 180 degrees and the image orientation reverses for easy touch-and-show sharing.

The Acer Twin Air cooling system (pending patent) extends the battery life and keeps the S7 comfortable to use. This is something I would like to try. My current Asus Zenbook does heats up quite a bit!

SUMMARY of the S7 design:

Acer S7 Launch-016

Well till I have tested one I can’t tell you for sure how’s the S7 is like. However, I can tell you that it looks fabulous for sure, in comparison with the Sony Duo 11, or even that gimmicky Dell latest ultrabook – XPS 12’s with a impractical twirl screen. If you haven’t seen the XPS 12 yet, here it is.

But hey, I’m basing my assumptions on looks alone ok? Don’t go hurling rotten tomatoes at me as yet. 🙂

Anyhow, I can tell you for sure I’ll be grabbing a Win 8 ultrabook soon. I’m just holding back while contemplating my options since there are so many brands launching their Windows 8 devices now.

Here’s the rest of the devices launched on that day as well. All touch enabled and Windows 8!
